I always loved linking to other bloggers and many have linked to me. I would for some strange reason often pass on being added to blogrolls and would tell people NOT TO link to me, I guess I had some weird linking strategy in that I always put people first and didn’t really give a shit about backlinks to be honest.

Chasing links is part of the beginning of blogging but I think having post that people want to link to is the best way obviously. That often takes a bit of work and insight on what kind of posts bloggers will link to but a further step is getting your site linked to well known sites and that will often happen because in reality it doesn’t take much to write a stellar LINKBAIT post.
Some kinds linkbait posts are anything hot and anything that talks Shit about anyone that is HIGHLY searched, rants often do well because maybe people feel sorry for your ass who knows.
I know one thing most links aren’t worth even getting if you want your site to have some strength you don’t need a bunch of shitty links that’s for sure.

On BloggerLUV the site really has some awesome EASY ways for bloggers to accumulate do follow links, from the only first buddypress do follow site, to the new do follow bookmarking site, to the forum with your signature, all the code has been opened up for the blogger to build some easy links and bloggerluv accumulates links on auto pilot I don’t have to do anything and the site runs itself, when it gets some serious Page rank I will be clocking some serious dollars from that site.
Just my luck now that I have a site that gets about 1000 views a day and a few clicks adsense pays are shitty not only for me but from many big sites also.
So right now the BEST way to get MASSIVE backlinks
1 Comment on this do follow blog
2 Comment on other do follow blogs and get in with bloggers known for do follow they are cooler then the other ones
SERIOUS

but if you insist write posts worth linking to
8 Be nice to other bloggers and even if your posts are shitty people will link to you
9 Build your own links they will show up other places
10 here this is what I mean

Yes I’m adding my new posts to the awesome BloggerLuv and it’s working, it’s also all down to time and having the time to comment on blogs with well written comments, but I do try, it all pays off in the end

Hi John, this is post is the truth! Thanks for the linkluv too.
You’re funny especially #8. The reason I point that one out is because when people are new to blogging they can make some pretty bad mistakes and their blogs suck (sometimes). But once you join BloggerLuv and start getting some feedback from the awesome crew we got over there, little by little your blog will start improving. You’ll start reading posts from the masters like John and some other top-notch bloggers over there (too many to mention) and next thing you know you’ll start getting traffic, becoming more focused in your writing, adding CommentLuv, joining the DoFollow movement….the list goes on and on.
The point is that the community is all about giving back to one another and no one is left out!

I have started to take linking to my blog more seriously recently. My traffic has increased since I starte, it is probably just a huge coincidence. I’m glad I found BloggerLuv, there is definitely so much information and experience there.

I don’t use the Tweet @ anywhere, but I have seen it and think it could be very useful. As part of the dofollow movement myself (all 3 of my blogs or DoFollow and Keyword/CommentLuv) I support the dofollow movement.

So much of it really is about building quality relationships with other like minded people. I have made a lot of good contacts simply from reading and commenting on a persons blog long enough to get to know them and finally reach that point where they reach out and contact you, or vice versa, outside of the blog.
Whenever anyone lets me do guest posting, I also make a point to write some posts about their sites on one of my blogs too. Even if they don’t feel inclined to guest post on any of my sites, I always try to give back a little bit.

I just started blogging but already learning heaps from posts like this. I had an experienced person in my niche set up a survey on my blog for me. I am so not a techie lol
Anyway as a thankyou I did a blog post on her and sent links back to her site. As I am in Oz and she is in the US, introduced her to some of the visitors from my blog to hers.
It was a complete surprise for her and garnered some lovely comments.

Backlinks are the lifeblood of SEO, until Google changes their algorithm and starts ignoring them (highly unlikely).
Hey John, love the Photoshop even if it hits me pretty hard. I’ve been guest posting lately, so I should carry that sign around, I guess, lol.
I was just going to ask you what you use to power BloggerLuv. I don’t know much about BuddyPress, but it works great on your site.

Dofollow blog commenting definitely works. I have managed to increase my PR form 0 to 2 in one of my blog only via dofollow blog commenting.

Hey, John!
I have been on-again, off-again about SEO on my blog.
My son actually believes that Social Networks are more powerful.
While I tend to agree, there is no disputing the benefits of backlinks.
Having said tat, I seriously doubt that my blog would have gotten the exposure it has enjoyed were it not for the efforts of the members at BloggerLuv.com! The reason is simple: at BloggerLuv, we are LOOKING for stuff to read, comment on and share. Search engine traffic is LOOKING for the answer to a SPECIFIC question.
Since I don’t have a niche blog, I don’t get to answer too many questions. This causes the search engine traffic to bounce higher than the last check I sent to the electric company LOL.
I try to stay grounded. I’m not really going after keywords and stuff on my blog – with the exception of the CAPTCHA tutorial, as that has already helped a few people – so, when I see all these tips, I absorb them and weigh whether I should do SEO or SMO (social media optimization). I wind up doing a bit of both.
The best of both worlds exists on BloggerLuv!!!
Cheers,
Mitch

Hey John,
I just came across your blog today. This post has a lot of really good and humorous content in it.
But the reason I’m leaving this message, as much as I love the actual content, is that the picture at the top is PRICELESS!
A) Hilarious
B) Pretty much encompasses the outlook of marketing that a lot of people have.
