BarackObama
I really wanted to do a personal review of our President Barack Obama on his 500 th day in office recently. Like most people I’m sure, I have been very confused with some of his priorities like JOBS for people and a few other things.
What I was thinking is who cares what I think. I would really love to hear other people share their real thoughts.
PLEASE don’t take this as an invitation to bash the President I believe 100% OUR President should be respected regardless of a person’s political persuasion. I also 100% agree that at no time should the American people come together then now.
I don’t want to write to much about my own opinion and possibly tarnish yours I will add to the comments.
So what do you think of Barack Obama as a person and as the President ?
Barack Obama
Barack Obama
Thanks and God Bless America :)

Like I said… when he addresses the country, I change the channel. When I think of him, I think of jackass… no not of the show on MTV, but because his politics and attitude was not what was promised from the beginning. I did not vote for him, I had a little better hope with McCain despite the fact the candidates in the previous 3 elections have been lacking. I liked GW some and it was unfortunate for 9-11 to happen… it threw off just about everyone. GW had not been able to recover much from that.

Obama runs the office like it is Chicago politics. Illinois is a pretty screwed up state, even bankrupt…. hence why I strongly did not vote for him. If you cannot run your state well, what says you can run the country any better?

I’m pretty much with Nile on this one – I didn’t vote for Obama, but that doesn’t mean I want him to fail. Being politically conservative doesn’t mean I don’t believe in “loyal opposition.”

So I think I should say what the President is doing right: while there are reports that some in the administration want to force the Taliban to the negotiating table (which I think is downright idiotic), for the most part the war is being conducted pretty well. And while I have some problems with the bailouts and the stimulus, it is agreed that bailing out the banks is probably the difference between this recession and a full-on depression, and stimulus dollars do help plug holes in state budgets.

However, the President still shows signs of inexperience, and is way too ideologically left for me. And even if he weren’t that liberal, can we afford everything he wants? I know the answer to that is a resounding “no.”

Still, he’s the President, and while I hope he changes his mind on some things, I do wish him the best.

I’ve said this before and I’ll repeat myself again:

Obama is our “Gorbachev”.

History lesson: Mikhail Gorbachev (“Gorby”) was the last Premier of the USSR (Soviet Union). He was extremely popular in the entire world but was hated in his own country (Russia).

Now we have Barack Obama in the USA. He is extremely popular in the rest of the world but is largely hated in his own country.

Nevertheless, I still like the man and am glad he’s made the world a safer place.

If he fixes the US Economy — I’ll like him even more!!!

I voted for him, if you didn’t vote for him, and you really wanted Palin in office, you should seek therapy immediately and hopefully the republicans will find a better pair of candidates for the next go round, if they want to stand a chance. People blame Obama hard for not resolving the oil spill crisis, but what they don’t realize if BP’s Engineers CANNOT fix the issue, then he can’t either. After all he is the PRESIDENT and NOT GOD.

As an Aussie I think he’s doing OK. I know many people disagree with his health care policy and everyone over here was scratching their head as to why because we’ve had one for years and it seems to be working well.

In regards to the oil fiasco I think he should have acted sooner. He shouldn’t have wasted all that time for BP to clean the mess. He should have organized you guys to do it and then sent BP the bill.

He certainly is pretty popular her in England. He gives the World the impression that he’s listening and not planning a holocaust. When he was elected everyone was full of hope.
Certainly plenty of US presidents in the past have had the war-monger look and it’s not exactly reassuring for the rest of the planet. Terrorism is likely to be less regular if we can calm things down a little and Obamba seemed initially at least to have those skills. … He seems less confident recently and this could cause problems and lead to reduced stability, as well as military challenges from the Middle East, if certain groups see a weakness.
I don’t know a great deal about the US perspective on this but I can see parallels from the little I have heard, with how Thatcher was received outside of the UK. When travelling outside the UK around that time and since, people have talked to me with bright eyes and enthusiasm about Margaret Thatcher and the first time it happened I was so shocked I nearly threw up on the person I was visiting. … they of course were trying to be polite to me as a visiting foreigner from England. To me, my family and our neighbours, Thatcher was like Stalin, Genghis Khan and Hitler all rolled into one. She did her level best to ruin our lives and take every hope away from us. I remember visiting friends, as a child, and being told at the doors to go home as families were upset and I couldn’t play with their child today, since Thatcher had just done this or that. She really did inflict misery upon us.
From this side of the pond the media only shows me a nice Obama but I don’t know what you’re seeing at that side but I hope your lives are good and happy and not made worse by some politician.

I usually don’t get too involved in political debate as it causes us to get mad at one another when in reality we all want the same result. We all want a better life for us and for our families. We just disagree about government’s role in helping us to create a better life.

I believe that Obama’s intentions are good. I am in total disagreement with his methods though. It seems that his administration believes that companies exist solely to abuse their workers and exploit every person they possibly can in any way to make a profit. I completely disagree with this mentality. I believe that private sector jobs are the cure for almost all of society’s ills. I think we need to be more business friendly. I don’t believe in handouts for business. I just think the government should get out and stay out of a person’s way who is trying to create something for herself.

Obama had made promises of breaking this country’s dependence on foreign oil. That is one goal I am in complete agreement with him on. Yet, he still hasn’t moved meaningfully closer to doing so.

I feel he is a great speaker and great orator. But, I believe that he lacks the leadership skills (being able to make his own wise decisions) that a person in a position of that much power must have. An economic scenario like we face today demands that we have a leader who is very decisive and swift to act on those decisions. Sadly, he is neither.

Should we trust a man who is blood related to Cheney and to several Presidents ?
I don’t know..

I know this a bit confusing but check the facts :-)
God Bless America and curse BP

I really do not think too much of him. He is a really good speaker (though he doesn’t say much of value) and that is why he got elected.
