Blogger get that money

Sometimes you just have to go with the fun of it all. This post is directed exactly to all my blogging brothers and sisters are the world that are still struggling, something you can do TODAY and cost you nothing but time and EFFORT.
When I first started blogging I tried reaching out to some local people many of whom had really nothing to offer to me and I see they continue to fail.
In blogging when something your doing stops working you must immediately refocus and hone right back on in on what does work.

Getting out in the public and knowing what companies need a site your capable of making is key :)

Also you can call your competition you would be surprised how many are clueless about wordpress and show them examples of it’s POWER :) I also let them know I’m available to do all their wordpress work.

Now you can easily add an ad to craiglist just saying WORDPRESS,HTML,CSS,PHP like I do in the title I get around one call a week from this oh I mean one JOB and a few calls. When I was very desperate I would make the MISTAKE and crazily sometimes offered to do sites for free and other crazy things<<<<
I also found if your honest and clear on the phone with the person they may decide to check some cheaper and BETTER solutions so when you have the attitude like ok Thanks I’ll be here if you need me.< <<
They will call seo companies and half ass design companies get a few crazy quotes and call you back :)
I have site orders backed up now and in fact I’m going to pass out some work to my friends, people that had my back regardless of where I was at in that moment.
MINDSET :)

A blogger with focus is dangerous.

Anyone blogging a year or more is capable of going around to local businesses and showing them examples of your work.
What has been good for me is that each assignment has a different twist and you get to challenge yourself and learn new and easier ways to do things.
Listening to that Pastor talking on the phone about how happy he was as I’m at the ATM was a nice way to start my day.
I’ll make it easy on you :) You get the work I will knock it out
I know one guy who told me he makes 11,000 a week
He charges like 799 and told me he pays 50 to the person that installs it
well I would have different numbers then that plus I would add a favicon for FREE LOL :P
But I do have plugin packs and other things that I can just whip a site together pretty FAST :)
I also never add my links or make any unknown code modifications.
The lady who I made that soap opera site for said it was ok to give her number to the wedding photographer who agreed 100% with my advice and site setup etc, then the  Pastor called because of another person’s Jesus site I did and so on.
All that and not adding in the money I made from my sites.

With some basic tools (business cards) phone and a good handshake there’s no reason a blogger isn’t getting 2-3 sites a week :) That’s all you really need.
I thought about raffling off my 30GB Ipod filled with dope music to raise 250 to buy social engine for Bloggerluv :)
1 buck a ticket it’s a jailbroke IPOD :)
Other then that what do you have  going on ?
Thanks everyone for all the support

Interesting stuff. Never thought of using craigslist. Local business thing is a good idea, but I’m not much of a salesman.

sometimes people think you need to be a professional designer with a degree in computing to get jobs but, they’re wrong! and you?, you’re right on the money John! this is exactly how I got all my first jobs. I made a blog and thought, boy! that was easy!

fast forward 5 years and I made a fat lot of money from it. So much that I no longer do it for others, I do it for myself and keep all the profit!! (well, pump it back into my business but you know what I mean :)

You can get a reseller account for hosting pretty cheap these days and with your plugin packs and theme edits, you can easily knock out a site or three a week.

It’s important to remember to be like John, be a person who deals with people. Not a machine who only talks to machines like google and bing

good for you mate, I hope you get lots and lots and lots of work. You know who to call for custom php quickies ;)

The only thing I have against Craigslist marketers is that most of them take it too far, and ruin it for everyone else.

I just took a quick peek at my own city’s CL, and it is in complete disarray. I can barely sort marketing hype from actual posts. It’s just one of the reasons I don’t use CL anymore.

It’s great to see people who just trip lightly through life, they don’t take themselves too seriously, or get embroiled in all the struggles that you can have. I love this calm, detached attitude you have towards your work. The more you let it flow, the easier it becomes! Inspiring stuff.

Craiglist can be hit and miss for me.

On one hand you have companies that want to absolutely rip you off for your services while you have other companies that are hurting for people to work on their projects.

The problem is the people that take advantage of the companies that need this work which then burns any good leads so you’re left with people that want to gouge you.

Although, I’ve found a lot of great things on CL so it’s all worthwhile. I don’t think nearly enough people take advantage of it.
