1 Let’s be honest and start off with the fact that MAYBE it’s NOT YOU. Granted I have come across thousands of bloggers and one thing they all have in common EXCEPT ME is they come first. Lucky you found this unique blog as I don’t blog for any other reason then to kill time while I work on my other projects. So don’t beat yourself down if your blogging history is meet someone cool reach out to someone cool Yo where did that guy go ? In fact I noticed I stopped even going to many blogs where I found the blogger was REALLY some all about me MOFO.
2 Maybe you had none to loose ? I mean really to me a fan is someone that you have spoke to on the phone more then once and you have some how become a part of their life even at a distance so like I said I would bet most bloggers don’t have any REAL FANS
I do
3 Your stale man. Yeah I know you may be a good person and all but so is half the planet. You just being a nice person behind the scenes and being mysterious after a year or more means who wants to know you ? Obviously you don’t want people to
WordPress and blogging tips posts are fucking played out if you don’t bring some live video or something UNIQUE you won’t make it to 2011 anyway
4 You think your all set by yourself
Come on you know how many GOOF bloggers I came across that write about social media and communication and thenĀ you say Hey call me so we can and THEY DUMB UP
MOST Bloggers I found are social misfits looking to get some fame and fortune from behind a screen
5 I can bet your next post title
I mean let’s be honest we all know everyone is just speed reading your post at best. Don’t believe me add some way for people to mention they read what you wrote by mentioning something in the comments. I have done this many times and even my best friends FAIL miserably in that. It did bother me about 2 years ago until I realized I wasn’t reading people’s shit
6 Ahh you take over I’m NOT writing this post to creme bloggers but maybe to raise awareness and speak the TRUTH :) Hey all this has actually helped me.I’m glad it wasn’t a love feast and I had to work hard now I know SHIT
Thanks Bloggers. Mostly what NOT TO DO
1 It made me realize I may know 1000′s of people but the reality is I really only know a few and only a few know me.
2 I do care about people so I take riskS and write what I think is important for BLOGGERS to hear.
3 Thanks for not reading
Speak your peace
If you LOOK behind the curtain you will actually see this is a POSITIVE POST
Tough Luv style LOL
What do you thinK ?
Be HONEST and name some reasons YOU LOST FANS of YOU and YOUR Blog
I rather one honest comment then 20 shitty ones
Sorry just being HONEST LOL
I tell you this to maybe HELP you now Hurt you
Mention if you want me to come to your blog everyday I don’t give a fuck I’m NOT asking for support and not willing to give any
ALSO PLEASE feel free to tell me exactly why you don’t come around here as often etc
We can’t fix what’s not Broke
Thanks
and I do see a downturn on EVERY BLOG so don’t take it personal if your blog been slacking even tho you MacKing
3 Thanks for not reading
– No problem brother!
Let me just start by saying Thank you. Too many freakin blogs out there that seem to know it all or only want to talk about themselves. Damn! Those blogs are an insta-goodbye. They might have good content, but it really only takes one to bounce and never come back. You gotta be real and you gotta talk more about the you and not the me. You’ve already said all of that tho
@Alex Monroe: I’m really glad you stopped by
I have been watching your COOL glasses on Twitter
sounds like your living a great life at least your getting LAID
I could say more but I will just say it meant a lot to me you stopped by
Thanks
Okay, now that you finally STFU on Twitter I can finish this comment. (Just kidding~ haha)
I’ve never wanted fans, but I have lost plenty of readers, the biggest reason was that I quit blogging for a few years — muhaha.
I like this post a lot. I’ve actually been thinking about this kind of thing lately. It isn’t talked about very much, but bloggers who make ANY kind of decent money are a tiny minority (you definitely won’t hear much about it from the professional bloggers — you’re more likely to hear rosy optimism). Why do you think that is?
I think bloggers who want to make money are HEAVILY marketed to, and the marketing is designed to make us feel good, not necessarily to help us make money. So we read fluff designed to make us feel good and then turn around and write more fluff designed to make other people feel good. Garbage in, garbage out as they say.
The end result seems to be a lot of boring, pretty fluff and a tiny minority making money. Seems like we could do better than that.
@John One the reason that the top 1% of the bloggers that make big money is because they stick together bloggers today don’t and run around like chickens pecking up kernels
I hate the whole online monetization system. I have one for you but I won’t mention the site here but to co write it Ying and Yang I was wanted to do it with this other so called blogger but he didn’t have what it takes.

I mean a site that reflects the opposite poles or you can just agree with me on anything I say
That 100 post was impressive is that 1st commenter single ? LOL
and I couldn’t even finish 10 on here
Did u just switch your commenting system ?
anyway Thanks for being COOL
Man, did I slack on getting back here. I’ll say for the record that I don’t come here as often because I don’t have the time — you make me think too much and then I write books in your comment section. Ha.
Yin Yang? You and I could co-write a blog but you would write, like, 15 posts for every one of mine. I’m not as prolific as I want to be, but I’m working on it (sort of).
I have, for instance, four invitations to guest post at the moment, and at first I was like “:D” (flattered), but I thought about actually writing four posts worthy of those blogs, and then I was like “-_-” (so much work).
I think it depends on the kind of site and readers you have. Say, for example, you have people who are just starting out in blogging and your site gives basic blogging tips. That’s great, for awhile. But then those people grow and become more advanced bloggers – they hence need to start looking for more advanced blogging tips. If you site stays with the same basic, beginner level content, then those readers are going to have to move on. And while you may be losing those readers, you’ll be gaining the next round of beginning bloggers, as new bloggers start up every day.
Your other option is to advance with readers – but then you’ll eventually advance to the point beginning bloggers can’t keep up. So, again, it really depends on the audience you want – you have to keep growing with it, or accept that you will be catering to a new audience, if that makes sense.
I don’t know about that, although my husband did mention this weekend he could see me as a public official of some sort, which is kind of ironic. I’m not sure I’d want that kind of responsibility though – I think that it’s easier for us to criticize what someone in that position does because we don’t see it from the sides that they do.
I like the information you have shared in this article. It really seems that losing fans and visitors have become an issue these days. An unfortunate reality of any business that deals with the public is the likelihood that from time to time, your customers will have negative issues with their experience. But if you keep the content fresh and informative like this one, they are bound to jump back in support.
Hi guys,
I will stop reading your blog if it’s boring. I mean I have read some blogs that were literally putting me to sleep. I had to stop and go take a nap. LOL!!!
Kind regards,
Sam

I probably lose fans, because I don’t follow a set niche and blog about everything that I like, so I suppose unless you are into mulit-niche blogs that could be a problem, but at the end of the day, I still have a great collection of loyal readers and commentators on my humble bloggy
Hi John,
I don’t have any fans to be in a position where I feel qualified to comment on why I lose them but for my part, I know I’m fairly erratic in reading and commenting anywhere. I just tend to go with the flow. I have a handful in my feed reader in my email (yours included) but if I don’t get to read them I find I have to mark all as read otherwise the sheer volume to try and catch up on makes this feel more like work than the fun I try and have!
What I love about the great sites though is it doesn’t matter if I haven’t been in ages, the welcome is still warm and genuine. I’m thinking of Sire in particular when I write that. I’m an absolute horror for visiting his place regularly and yet he’s always lovely to me
@Eleanor

I know you have your work and I do admire the way you mix up your relationship with bloggers and your mission
Smooth and consistent
As far as Sire I have mad respect for him as a person and blogger, ladies man, naturally cool guy and he’s really ripping it up now on his blog. It’s one of the few joys of blogging to watch a bloggers skills elevate over time and even better when there’s a real friendship
Thanks
Inconsistent posting seems to be the real biggy. a regular schedule gives a steady stream of content for readers.
Reasons my blogs lose fans? The clue is in the plurality: Blogs!!
I tend to get an idea, get excited, start it up and then slowly, but surely lose interest just as it starts peaking.. Bleuh!
Can’t expect anyone else to keep interested if I can’t
I lose fans all the time – a lot of people get bored with what I write, even when they show some interest initially.
I think the only way to overcome “fan loss” is to just keep looking for more people to help one promote, and yeah, one has to be that specific. It isn’t enough to just find people who are readers and are passive. What’s crucial is that a network gets built that can and is willing to do something.
