The 500 Comment Post

Pls RT
500 do followed commentsComments

Comments should never be taking for granted. I often see excellent blogs with  little or no  comments, then you have mediocre blogs such as this one approaching 10,000 comments.

Also I often noticed  it feels like you must say the right thing when leaving a comment, I have seen where if you disagree the “fans” of that blog will turn on you and it can be pretty funny and Pathetic :)   Whenever I write a post I always do my best to instill the message that you can say whatever you want.

Surprisingly I have only had 1-2 negative comments our of almost 10,000, the negative ones weren’t even really that negative. Anyway I wanted to do an experiment to see the real results of all this speculation about the value of DO FOLLOW comments, also now I read about how a post is rank in serps according to your popularity and the quality of your friends, sounds like some serious bullshit if you ask me but I guess we are about to find out.

Here’s what I’m going to do

1 I will add this post to my sidebar and blogroll. You can come back over time and add as many comments as you want but DON’T use up all 500 :)

2 I will visit and hit up every blog that comments

3 THIS IS IMPORTANT : if you leave multiple comments PLS always mix up your comment luv url’s, if you want because I often see people use the same one if they comment more then once, the Famous DOUBLE DIP :)

4 Also pls use the BEST Keywords for you and your blog, for example when you write your name in the comment section use @ then your keywords we are going to find out the real deal about the KEYWORD luv power.

I will mention one thing about that. I have a pretty common name JOHN SULLIVAN sort of like John Smith for the Irish, I often just use my name when commenting on blogs, I rank very HIGH for John Sullivan on Google especially considering there has been some pretty famous John Sullivan’s throughout history. So if you already rank well for your name you may want to mix it up with something your targeting, for example. I was having some fun with terms like ” The Blog Obama Reads” and other silly things just for fun.

Just because I don’t target specific keywords doesn’t mean you shouldn’t.

1 Say what you want, use it to alert people to your post. For Example : Hey people I just wrote yet another wordpress tips post etc

FOLLOW UP

Come back over time to see how close we are to 500 it should coincide with the next update we will use this post as an experiment.

Also my friends and people that seriously participate will have their keywords and site url moved up to this section for example

Cool Blogs to Comment

You may be thinking man this dude is slick and think this post is all about me and what I benefit. How am I benefiting ? this post is for you not me and I already am happy with the number of comments this blog gets and appreciate every one of them.

Please limit the number of links you add in the comment section to 3 or less other then that let’s see what you can come up with to PIMP your comment.

POTPOLITICS always tries to say and do what others don’t. I have never seen 500 comments on a post till NOW :)

Thanks and I will be sending this post around the world and adding all my little tricks to promote it and other things you just have fun and do your thing we will see the results. Thank You and pls rt or send to a friend.

Spam will be dealt with accordingly I will not be approving any comment that weakens the effect and unlike many blogs I won’t be responding to every comment to inflate the comment count.

best blog in the universeThe TOP commentor will have their blogs 125 ad swapped for the one right above. Others will have their blogs added to this section.

leave a do followed comment ThanksThank YOU

Do I get to be the first comment on the 500 Comment Post? Always enjoyable to visit your blog and I do get positive and negative comments, though the only negative comments I get on my blog are ones where the user didn’t like the product I talked about or the company I am reviewing…etc No negative comments directed toward me or my blog specifically. I have had people leave negative comments on my poetry blog that they didn’t like some of my poems.

Sadly, CommentLuv is not playing well with my blog today. But I hope that you make your goal of 500 comments and it gets good rankings and PR so you can add more proof that dofollow doesn’t hurt anything. :)

    Hey John,

Smart mate… I can see this is a smart move for all sides…. ;)

An experiment within an experiment…for us if we think about it… like I am. :)

    Huh…

Ah, well, we been having a great summery sunny Easter here, on “portland bill” ~ “Portland bill, Dorset” that is… you can see just what I mean when you check out the “chesil beach sunset” pic on ~ see a video of the sunset on and this is what draws people to visit the “Isle of Portland” (incidently, that’s about 50 metres behind me as I type this! on “chesil beach”) among other things, a truly unique place… and “portland bill accommodation” is plentiful, especially when you have someone in the know…and more info linked in comluv below! ;)

Thanks John, interesting this will be, here why, I have “” the main phrases I’d like to that “portland bill” blog to rank for… at the moment It’s not ranking well enough for “portland bill” which is the main aim, not even sure of the exact place it ranks, I need probably another 10 “portland bill” keyword backlinks to get that to move up…and move up some… guessing from the top existing ranked ones for the same phrase. :)

It will be very interesting to see what happens…

Very cool expirement indeed. I have been trying to get on front page of google for the phrase ” promote your blog” but I can’t get past page three. Hoping this will help!

  7. Dennis Edell @ Direct Sales Marketing says:

I’m still testing, but I think I have found some real power behind KeywordLuv.

You’ll notice the URL I use goes to my About page. In this last Google dance round (the first for this blog), About received a 3 while my index received a 2. ;)

  8. 500 Club says:

Ok, so I wonder how long it will take to get 500 comments.
What do you think about leaving the link to a particular blog post in the website field instead of just the home page link? That would probably mess with the Keyword luv though..
I look forward to hearing about the results of the post..I did click the subscribe button, but may have to unsubscribe if it gets to be too much.

Great title. It caught my eye while I was randomly surfing websites quickly to look for eye catching designs.

I read the post carefully about 4 times and I’m not sure I understand what it’s about. It’s going to be another one of those questions that I lob at my marketing manager, “What does this mean?” I think I sort of understand how you suggest that I post my name in the comment.

I just started blogging so here are 3 interesting posts you might enjoy.

I’m still in beta (website designing mode) so if y’all have any recommendations or critiques, feel free. It can’t be harsher than my review committee (4 ladies – 24, 47, 55 and 80)

Do you have a time limit in mind to get the 500? This is a cool idea and I think it will benefit us all and it seems that is what you have in mind, I see from your blog you do a lot of win – win situations here.

  12. NedCarey@Tax Lien Investing says:

I subscribed to comments. I am expecting a FLOOD of e-mails!

You already have 3288 tweets but only 31 comments ;-) Pretty cool trick John, that’s funny.
