Taking your blog mainstream
No doubt the most powerful asset a blogger can have is the blessing of a good partner, someone they can trust and share a mutual respect and agenda. I have been blessed with some partners but I can be harsh and demanding so I heard so I wanted to just share something about that real quick.
I’m fortunate in that I have every hour of the day to blog if I want. I can hang on twitter all day if I wanted. Most people don’t have that luxury and operate in the real world. I wasn’t even smart enough to consider that most bloggers are not locked into some basement blogging 24 /7. Having an understanding of what it’s going to take to make powerful, reliable connection (FRIENDS) online will determine whether you are successful or not I guarantee it.
Don’t trap yourself in the NICHE FACTOR
Sadly many bloggers get tunnel vision and stick to one specific niche. I will give you some examples of that. Everyone knows about Comment Luv and many blogs use it. I only go to that site when I have issues with the feeds or if there is some new news. If the site was engaging people on many different levels I would no doubt visit more.
The challenge is real engagement, pussyfooting and lurking produce nothing and will keep you stagnant. I often get asked to help people find some monetizing solutions that will work for them, when I say call me and send you my number I’m not the one loosing out when you DON’T call. I may think about it and be slightly confused but my day isn’t going to suffer. Don’t waste people’s time if you need something ask them it’s up to them to take action and if they don’t bother to respond hey at least you did your part.
Blogging Partners
So if your new I will tell you some people I would look up if I was you. If your looking to get out there quick I would comment on James blog at InfoPrenuer, he mixes it up and is easy to do some cross promotion, guest posting, and idea exchanges. The topics on his blog vary so it is easy to add to the comments. Many blogs have people that are fans etc so when you tap into that blog you will often get tapped into a whole new crowd of people. An excellent example of that would be to scout out the main players on this blog and to get involved with sane people I would go to >>KIKOLANI.com this is a great site to tap into blogging tips and ways to run a mainstream all around excellent site.
Once you do a few rounds like on Brian’s ExtremeEzine and John’s ExtremeJohn Blog you will be injected into an awesome group of bloggers that have made this blog.
Finding the right partner is a challenge. For whatever crazy reason most bloggers are pretty lame in their socializing skills and really interacting on a level that guarantees success.Use their weakness to your benefit. Do what people are not doing, learn and adjust your own style, if people are telling you YOU sound angry and your running people off you’d be a fool not to reflect on that and open yourself up to better ways of dealing with disappointment and people.
The only person that will be at fault when you don’t make it is you.
Don’t be like me Your own worst enemy. Keep reaching out and don’t QUIT.
Please add the blogger that has played a role in your blogging, your partner who they are and how it works. Hopefully people will see it and see you and say Hey I’m going to look that person up
I couldn’t end this post without reporting on yesterday and how incredible a day of blogging it was.
I will tell you what happen and why it happen.
I had some difficulty deleting all the trackbacks and had to delete 100′s of them, I wanted my friends and visitors to benefit from all links that I knew, visited and trusted. I had to delete many comments to keep them clean. I had 3 posts popping at once. I also added 3 posts that were totally different and would PROVOKE different reactions. I did one thing to make it happen. I added the post to amplify and my friends did the rest. One click BAMM then I had to run back here and yes I did cry yesterday as I read the comments, it was awesome.
Thanks everyone

Wow… two days in a row.
This post does remind me of something I’ve been noticing… it seems like the same “crew” of cool people (yourself included) seem to be hitting a lot of the blogs I frequently read – I see them in the top commenter lists, and am proud to know that some met through my comments. It’s a great feeling!

Hey John,
The notion of a niche is sometimes weird to me. I can’t truly classify my blog into a niche. I write about what inspires me. One day that might be about music the other day it might be about technology. So I totally get your point about not boxing ourselves in too tightly into a niche.
I also really liked what you said about reaching out. Ultimately a blog is there to serve people. It’s more about the people than it is about information in the end.
Blessings,
Eren

Hey Kissie,
Thanks for the shout out. I’m always happy to partner with you. You’re the best friend in the world!
John, thanks for your encouragement. I just have one question though, what did you mean when you said you had “to delete many comments to keep them clean”??

I don’t think there’s something wrong with being niche focused as long as you’re delivering good content that are unseen somewhere else because this will make you unique.
I’m more comfortable writing on a niche perspective because this gives me a clear direction to get targeted audience that’s why I don’t want to mix things up or dilute it with unnecessary topics that I think wouldn’t be beneficial to my readers.
If I want variety, I’d rather create a new site for random stuff.
Just my two cents.

I am fairly lucky and have my cousin for a blog partner. We are very good friends so it is both fun and easy to work. We are able to keep each other motivated and provide solutions to each others problems.
I had to chuckle at how alike we are. I too can sit here all day, and I too ticked off a few with families and such; in the beginning.
I just didn’t get why it couldn’t be done ASAP! lol
