Before We get started I wanted to tell you the truth about something. Imagine in the two years you been blogging you lost 5,300 dollars to a “friend-blogger” named Tony from Kentucky and 543 dollars to another “blogger from Dallas area named Bradley Bowden. And you built them sites and were friends then you got beat ? I walked away from that and more MANY times and didn’t say anything on this blog. Imagine your working hard and visiting 1000′s of blogs and submitting 1000′s of links for people and to be honest I know exactly how many bloggers out of 10 take a sec to say Thanks. Think about that shit before you Judge Mr Sullivan to harshly. I never did anything to intentionally hurt another blogger, in fact recently I had a little tiff with a FRIEND and when I saw one of his old “friends ” left a real fucked up comment I didn’t even think twice about NOT approving it, in fact I should just delete it. I wouldn’t rub anyone’s face in anything unless they really really deserved it. Let me tell you why I really write everything the way I do is because I do care about YOU.
I don’t care about being famous. I’m old I had my fame and fortune and blogging let’s me say and do things that maybe I wouldn’t before because I thought not saying something was caring. I thought maybe letting you slide in your shit and looking the other way especially when I would benefit $$$ was fine by me but did I care then ? I thought I did but I didn’t and I let many people down always putting friends first and keeping my word no matter what.
NOW it’s your turn
Let’s say someone NOT ME wrote a real nasty post about you saying you were a jerk a FAKE and your site sucked and you should kill yourself, I mean some real nasty hurtful shit.<<This did not happen to me and if it did I would go to their HOUSE 
What would you do ?
1 I wouldn’t do anything and recognize they are sick and I stay away from sick people BYE.
2 I would do something like comment or email them saying that they were wrong and speak my peace and then have nothing to do with them ever again no matter what they said.
3 Ok look bloggers may be lazy but they are not stupid so I don’t have to speculate and write 50 fucking things you’d do let’s just hear it what would you do if someone dissed you ?
Maybe the level of diss is important to you and your not as petty as me and it takes a lot for you to step out of your norm . Well tell me what that is about ? Because I know I have changed a lot in the two years I have been blogging and granted I have along way to go but I used to handle things with a hostile in your face way when someone got out of line whether I won the fight or not. I wasn’t like that or a bully but where I was from you HAD TO BE like that or you would be punked and once you were punked you better just move.
So do you or would you use your blog to retaliate against people, companies or principles that deserved it ?
Are you one of those bloggers that is stuffing your opinion to maintain some lame positive socially acceptable front so you can brand yourself as some fucking guru and write mad ebooks ? That shit has been done 11.5 million times already and one of the BIG reasons I don’t even give a fuck about Facebook anymore.

Think about that is that YOU ? Is that the people you hang with> that study metrics and ANALytics to time when they are going to PLAY people next with some dumb your going to be super rich if you listen to this shit I’m about to tell you with my system.

Right now I am still finding my way in this niche, even though I have been blogging for over 2yrs, it was mainly in the home improvements niche, and those people are much nicer to deal with.
So to the question at hand, I am not blogging for a hobby, I am here to make a living and feed my family and put a roof over my head. If that means I will offer products either through affiliates or my own products, then so be it. Are there products out there that are scams? Hell yes! That doesn’t mean that every blogger that offers products is a scammer though. One bad apple doesn’t make all the other apples in the basket rotten…
I have found people in this niche to be too quick to judge someone (including myself) and to me that just isn’t right, so it is something I am working on changing. I plan to be out there buying a lot of products that bloggers are putting on the market right now, and I plan to review them on my site, as well as try to learn from them.
My ultimate hope is to provide something that people can find value in, and make some money in the process. I haven’t completely figured out exactly how I will do that in this niche, but I will….

I’m with John [ExtremeJohn, of course] on you really kicking up some dust lately. It’s inspiring and motivating. I still don’t feel worthy of being on your radar, but am glad that I am. And, no, I’m not just blowing smoke up your ass. I really mean what I say and would not say it otherwise.
On to answering the question at hand. I’m an all over the place type of blogger. I want to learn it all and then some. Ideally, I would be the type of blogger who sits in her backyard sipping iced tea, staring out at the Atlantic while breathing in that wonderful salt air somewhere just south of Marathon, FL. I would write about my love of the ocean and books and a peaceful existence.

Taking your advice. It’s in the pipeline and I even dug up so old photos of me just because.
I don’t want to live in Marathon, more like 30 minutes south. I love Key West, but would rather be on a more isolated island [are there any of those anymore?]. Maybe I’ll just get a boat and camp out on a sandbar. Easier to leave when a hurricane comes barreling along. One day.
Right now, I would say I’m an insanely busy blogger who is probably more focused on work and home life than blogging. Aside from my Friday post, I haven’t written anything on my own site in 2 – 3 weeks. Most of my social media / blogging presence has been maintained during work hours and not much beyond that, since I am now doing more posts for my company.
As far as getting burned by people for doing nice things, this is the approach I take. I do things for people (commenting, bookmarking, answering questions, consulting, etc.) because I want to. I don’t expect anything in return (unless they are a freelance client that has agreed to pay so much per hour, which is an obvious exception). I have been tweeting / stumbling posts for people that haven’t acknowledged me in months, or have never acknowledged me. I just focus on promoting items I find useful for myself or that my followers might find useful. But I don’t do anything in hopes of getting acknowledgement or reciprocation, and I think that is really the only way to go – otherwise, you will feel like you are getting used / ignored / unappreciated in the end.
Do all of the people who never acknowledge you for something you have done for them mean to be intentionally rude? I don’t think so… personally, I appreciate every retweet I get, everyone who comments or stumbles my site, but I just don’t have the time anymore to go back and individually do something in return. Would I like to? Yes. Do I on occasion? Yes. But can I do it for everyone? No. Could I if I just chose to work on my computer for 20 hours a day? Probably. But can I make that sacrifice? No, I simply can’t.
If I knew that someone had the time to reciprocate or thank me for something I did for them but just chose not to, then I could see where I would feel a little miffed. But outside of that, I just accept that people have a lot on their plate more than they share publicly.
I think it’s wonderful that you go above and beyond for your friends and help them out in so many ways. I think it would be great if all of those people would show their appreciation. But I think the approach you should take is before you do something for someone, ask yourself this. Would you still do what ever it is you are going to do for this person if you are certain they will never acknowledge, give thanks, or reciprocate that action in any way. If you can say you still want to do it without any kind of return, then go for it. But if you feel like you will be hurt by someone who won’t even notice or may take advantage of the situation, then just don’t do it. It’s not fair to yourself to keep putting so much of yourself into others and end up feeling like no one cares.
I hope that this doesn’t come off as sounding like I’m criticizing anything you do, because I’m not. Again, I think what you do for your friends is wonderful.

I think we’re a lot alike John. Yes, blogging can be considered the 2nd half of my web business, so it is no hobby for sure.
That said, I will not fake it up for anyone. I am as real as they come to both friends and foes; I do what I do and say what I say…with class and tact of course.
Yea it gets me in deep from time to time, but WTF.
As for what I do when being dissed, I’m glad you asked as I have real (web) life experience at this.
Assuming it’s not actual *legal action taking liable* (remember this is business and reputation to me) then I take 1 of 2 actions…
1. Nothing at all; just let it go. If anyone reading it gives kudos, those are folks I want nothing to do with anyway. If anyone reading it takes offense in my defense, they take care of it for me. (There is NO better feeling then this.)
2. Turn on the passive-aggressive mojo. This is where you’re able to make someone look like a real jackass and everyone knows it but him/her. LOL
Beginners should never attempt 2. If/when it backfires, you look bad 10fold.
