My real Agenda

in bloggers,blogging,blogging tips

I was reflecting back to last March when I was making great money and this blog was around the same spot on Alexa. What started out as a break and taking my family down to South Padre Island for the weekend, ended by the car broke down 3/4 of the way there which set off a chain reaction of me getting drunk and spending some time in the local county jail for marijuana.
I mention that because I see where I was once again sabotaging myself getting involved in petty issues with other bloggers over nothing. The thing that got me is the whole debate wasn’t even about my concern about people making money online but how many often change after they have done so. I like to try and be honest with myself and noticed I was doing some of the same things. I have many good blogging friends ones who I should of been paying more attention to and avoiding any negativity.I don’t need to be right and I do have an agenda so let me tell you exactly what that is.
1 Originally I was going to write about marijuana, the laws and to advocate for the legalizing of marijuana. I have totally failed in this effort as I found marijuana was more fun smoking it then writing about it everyday.
2 The other agenda is to find good sites that really benefit bloggers. This blog was built by suggesting sites that people didn’t know about and I would often write about those sites. I got away from that because there was a lull in good sites and the ones that I did like changed over time like MIXX going to no follow after many bloggers made that site. But I will get back into that as I’m arranging an interview with the owner of an amazing site and we will talk Monday.
3 I like to find offers that really pay and share them with bloggers.
4 The biggest thing that I like to do is promote other bloggers and my friends and ones that I see working hard.
5 This isn’t the traditional blog in the sense that I always maintain a positive front and keep you thinking I some socially acceptable person trying to scale my social media presence so you will buy my products. Look I study programming and am currently learning more about Chrome extensions, I know that my often bizzare style alienates me from the people that are so concerned about their reputations etc and that is fine with me. I’m not trying to conform and be like everyone else.
So for now on I’m going back to basics and will do what I like to do.When I’m in the flow I know I can produce post that people will benefit from.Maybe you have time to play the blogging game, where you write some cool post bloggers like and you get some comments and everyone thinks your wonderful. I enjoyed that for along time and it is awesome but for me it’s not enough I’m looking to go beyond the How you doing ? Good yeah me to to some life changing results.
Look I don’t want to fight with anyone. I don’t need people that are not my real friends in my life. I could add people’s names that I know I have helped make changes in their life and I don’t need to do that. I just want you to know that I will now take a break and go back to basics and stick with my friends PERIOD :) Have a nice day Thanks

Also to be honest I would really like to pursue this shit further but since I have some profitable business relationships I will tone it down for that sake but I do think many people need a wake up call but I will let them sleep :) Even though that would be a kinda of cool niche to be the most hated blogger on the planet for being brutally honest and you’d probably become rich doing so I really am not a bad guy and don’t need to profit off anyone else’s expense FOR REAL.

Hi John,

While some will be put off by your unusual honesty, others are attracted to it. I originally hesitated to link to you or comment here because you know what is officially illegal even though my personal opinion is this is theoretically a free country and it is truly none of their business.

Being controversial works for many people and it appears to be working for you. Your blog is popular and people do comment here – even people like me who are not interested in substances or getting involved in politics.

You have a good heart John. Each person must make their own decisions and we must allow them to do that no matter how much we wish they would wake up or listen to us. There is a solution that will bring you peace but you may still be a long way from wanting to hear what it is.

Truthfully John, I’m glad you are blogging about things I find interesting. I love posts about ‘making money’ but posts like this are much more real. I’m also glad you didn’t stick to just posting about marijuana. While I’m not an advocate for it or against it in any way it’s simply not a big issue to me. What is a big issue is online friends and business. While they mix well when we’re lucky, they can run independent too. I have friends that I think the world of but wouldn’t dream of doing business with. That includes almost all of my family. It sucks but it is what it is.

The funnest statement I’ve heard in a long time:
“I found marijuana was more fun smoking it then writing about it everyday.”
I love that lol Classic!

Hey John,
Now and again I bump into you, I believe I am a member of your board kind of lost the link, don’t be afraid to send out a mas mail once in a while to remind us to return.

Anyway to the post I like your writing truthful, funny and I always like sarcasm. Always funny because it just blows by most people.

The weed thing I’m defiantly for the free use especially medical uses. I have friends that it helps tremendously, I think it would stimulate the economy tremendously, and last but not least I would much rather deal with a stoner than a drunk in many ways. Although I stopped smoking 30 years ago I still understand people that want the right to. I don’t think it has hurt Alaska!

Your focus on internet friends and business is probably more productive than trying to buck the system. The system won’t be bucked until there is clearly profit in someones pocket that dosn’t deserve it anyway.

Awesome read Thanks.

Getting back to basics is something I say at least 10x a week in my small business and personal life when interacting with my kids, basics work. Oh and just for the record John, you were the first blog in my reader and your still one of the only original blogs in my reader now, don’t ever conform. Be you.

Good honest stuff there. I think you are right, you blunt style does push some people away, but that is because they are frightened or weak minded.
It’s good to be loyal, and have loyal friends, and that is what I see with you John… you’s good people man (as I have said before)
Now, as far as people changing, that is a pet peeve of mine also. I can’t stand it when people forget where they came from and get too big for their britches.

I don’t know that I ever really got into blogging for the money…. although it would have been nice. I do value several people I have met in the blogging world. One of them being you…. If I have a few spare minutes…. you are the first friend I check….. I always learn something from you. Life is definately different than it was a year ago. I am firmly established in a career where I am making comfortable money. My sons have come and gone and back… youngest was in Iraq… he’s back. The other is now in Ecuador for another 2 years. My daughter with husband and granddaughters in tow, have moved from Florida to North Carolina…. which is really where all my free time has gone…… So to you my blog friend, I say, “Whilst I may be quiet, you have a constant place in my heart!” Take care! Christina

John, I’ve just found your blog and you are true to your word you are not conventional! However too many of these blogs are a vannilla experience with no personality. Blogs were supposed to show variety and personality but sadly that has been lost.

Don’t tone it down, keep going, we all need a shake now and again and a little contreversy never hurt anyone.

Hey JS, do you have any thoughts or ideas on the current way many money-making sites are pretty much rehashing the same tired old techniques?

Trying to strike up a convo without pissing ya off.
