Health Care Reform Bill

health care in America

Well today’s the day. I was almost thinking they are doing it on a Sunday to get triple time on the OT but more importantly today is a big day in Barack Obama’s future and the outcome will affect millions of Americans.

Barack Obama pushes his bill The thing I learned about this whole debate is that Barack Obama is to nice and should of been a stronger leader on his agenda, just goes to show many times worrying about what the other people will think is a waste of time. I’m not going to share all the facts about this bill or what my opinions are because I want YOU to be able to say whatever you want about Health Care Reform in America. I will leave this little pic as a clue of where I stand Thanks

Actually because the bill has been altered, I don’t really know what’s in it now. It’s not what we (those of us who even want to see it pass) initially wanted – I know. From what I understand 32,000,000 — that’s the number of Americans who will get health insurance under the President’s plan. That works for me!

Obama took over the Titanic after it hit the iceberg, I don’t know what’s up with our government but it’s who we elected and it’s what we decide to do after the election. I believe we as a people need to be more involved in what our government does – those who represent us. I am one to write and make calls – I live in a RED state GEORGIA – who cares NOT MUCH about people who look like me. So, I’m ALWAYS going to let them know what I want, how I feel, and where I disagree. I get the same generic response but trust me, I don’t limit what I have to say to the cyber world.

It saddens me to see the reaction of those who don’t want to see this bill pass. For whatever reason, it’s their individual choices, I think the hatred and disrespect has certainly crossed the line. But, how long do we expect them to keep their hoods in the closet. I’m not trying to hear that “tea party” crap! I know the real deal…..sad, sad world.

Do I want health care reform? Hell Yes!! Do I want this bill to pass? Hell NO! Just like every other new bill that comes along there is so much crap in the bill that is going to screw the little guy.

I wasn’t going to post here again until I got around to making a new post on my blog, but this health care bill is just a total mess.

If this bill goes thru there will be a lot of people losing jobs from the small business industry. My brother-in-law owns a small trucking company and if this goes thru he will be getting rid of his workers and just drive truck himself. He cannot afford to pay for health care for his workers. His workers understand this and do not want to lose their jobs over this.

My husband has been out of work for over a year. He is an over aged engineer who cannot get a job. So according to this bill, we will have to buy government insurance or pay a fine. Look Obama, if we had the money to pay for things we would have not gotten our car repossessed. We would not be behind on our other payments. We would not be wondering if we are going to be able to keep our home. We would not be getting free food of the food trucks.

Our government needs to get real and quit giving to the rich and start supporting the needs of the middle man and the truly poor. I thought Obama was the man for us, but I do not think that way any more.

I really don’t think it’s in the best interest of the American people for a bill like this to pass. From the same great people who run the DMV and the Post Office…..because those sure are efficient. I can’t believe that the American public would be so blinded by the promise of free health care that they would over-look what is actually going to happen. You will be FINED on a yearly basis if you don’t carry health insurance beginning around 2014 if you make a certain amount of money. Yeah it might be great that 32 million Americans will receive free health care, but where is this money going to come from? The government can’t even run Social Security correctly, they borrow and spend on it which is ILLEGAL, if we did that we would be thrown in jail for fraud. Public insurance options are going to go sky-high now that they can no longer deny claims because of pre-existing conditions (which I’ve always thought they should do anyways, EVERYONE should be able to be healthy). People think it’s more freedom, and we’re entitled to have it, but in reality this bill is doing nothing but boxing us in. The government will decide what medicines you “need” and which ones you don’t. You mean the same people that might have to soon cut a day out of delivering the mail due to inefficiency and costs? This change to the system affects one sixth of our economy!

But the worst thing about this whole bill is the way the Democrats acted the whole time, knowing they could just push the bill through, kind of sneering at the opposition. But that’s just it. It’s not their opposition. It’s their fellow Americans. No matter what “side” you are on this will affect nearly every person in this country, and I think they should truly figure out what is best for the American citizens and do that, because just pushing a bill through to “save an image of a presidency” is BULLSHIT, especially when it’s the biggest change to affect the American people since the ’30′s!!! Okay I’m done…geez you asked John :P your fault lmao :D

All I know is something needs to be done about our health care system. I really don’t care for what’s trying to pass as health care reform but I’m not surprised, it’s the Government after all. Forcing people to buy a product from a business or get fined is simply insane if not illegal. The Government can’t do anything without turning it into a huge mess and this is a prime example. The democrats should be held accountable for the mess they have turned this into and I hope we clean house on the next election. Any bill passed without a single republican vote has to be wrong.

I consider myself an Independent, not republican or democrat. With that said, it makes me sick to watch the self righteous republicans fighting tooth and nail against the bill saying they want something better when they sat on their hands doing nothing year after year. I just want to smack someone that starts pissing and moaning about reform when they did nothing for generations while good people, scratch that… Americans! have been suffering. Shame on you that are passing the rhetoric talking about the damage being done by the democrats. Inaction has hurt millions just as the crap bill the democrat are passing will do.

I don’t know what the solution is but I would love to see every stinking politician fired/replaced/jailed. Get rid of every single crook in DC. Yes, the baby with the bathwater, because that’s an evil ass baby. The whole political system makes me sick. That’s Right, I Said It!

@ Brian, excellent point!

I work for and with a WHO (World Health Organization) …. and all we want is to end a specific chronic disease. Everyday I’m surrounded by and hear stories of so many sufferers, supporters, advocates, and more …..

If possible, I want to be a catalyst for healing our nation on behalf of the patients and families I serve everyday. I hope we can learn to respect each other and communicate without the disdain. (Hey, where is THAT world?!)

I want dying men and women to have healthcare that is:

1. Available
2. Affordable
3. Adequate
4. Administratively simple

(3 out of 4 isn’t too bad)
