This is the first in the Building Influence series . Every blogger wants influence, some over their niche, some over the world. We are going to take a CLOSE look at how to go about gaining influence. What some influential bloggers do to get, maintain and gain even more influence.

We are going to go right at the heart of the blogging phenomena and see what’s really up in blogging ?

For now I wanted to show you an email system that is FREE and very cool. I have accts in an old name I used for years when I lived in Key West, my main twitter accts name is jsinkeywest, my gmail is jsinkeywest well that dude is gone and it’s time to step it up and start getting my own name out there. Inbox is a very cool site that you can Hopefully get your own name, I have a very common name John Sullivan so I was Happy to snag up my name johnsullivan@inbox. There’s many other cool features on the site and you can even link that address to all your others. The MAIN reason I mention this is because people have all kinds of crazy email addresses and it’s hard to get in touch with people. We want to make our life easier and make better contacts and more money. When we send an email via inbox we want the person to know exactly who is sending this email.
I want to do a 50 posts series on Influence<< that is the one thing EVERYONE wants so why not start at the TOP :)
I was VERY HAPPY to see one of my Blogging buddies BREAK  THRU the wall and her great blog was added to the list of Top Ten Social Media blogs, that was a pretty cool thing to see. Kristi has already had GREAT influence on myself and many of my friends but you will notice that post has almost 600 retweets, why is that when yours has a dozen ? That is EXACTLY what we are going to find out and have happen to YOU :)

Now with all the NOISE on a typical gmail acct if you take blogging serious and your trying to be successful in blogging why not test your new inbox account and send your NEW contact johnsullivan @inbox an email :) That would be pretty influential to ME :)

Which way is your Arrow going ?

Great stuff for Kristi! Those are some pretty big names she has in her company!

I would check out Inbox, but I have an unusual name so it was easy to get a Gmail… Plus I already have like 10 emails and can’t keep up as it is!

lol, okay John. I went ahead and registered on Inbox, since you said we’ll be using it in the future. Looking forward to seeing what you have in mind.

And yes, many congrats go out to Kristi. It’s nice to see REAL bloggers get recognition like that. It just proves what I’ve been saying about how the blogosphere is changing.

That’s pretty cool you were able to grab your name. When I first started everything was ‘CheapAzz’. I had a hard time pulling away from that and start using my name and sites for various accounts. My brother still has the full name he set up many years ago in Hotmail.

So now it’s johnsullivan@inbox dot com as your main email? I need to reassure this so I can correct your contact in my address book. :-) Interesting, I may be living in the well for this is the first time I heard of inbox dot com. Just may give this a shot but only for securing the address, or reserve for some other usage in future. Never know right? ^^

Bravo to Kristy, she’s a role model!

It seems that the service is only available for US, CA, and UK. It’s good that it offers POP3/SMTP access in which case, it’s better as a free service compared to Yahoo mail non-plus accounts.

OK John, how is that inbox different from using your name at your domain? What I mean is that I could easily create ’sire@wassupblog.com’ as my new email address. Of course those people who don’t host their own blog could still use it ;)
