Facebook vs Twitter

Choose Your Fav BY Clicking LOL

Now that the dust has settled and everyone is fully aware of how to use their twitter and Facebook accounts I wanted to do a recap of what is happening for me and not happening on both huge networks.
Basically BOTH to me are a bust. I tried to access a good stream of like minded (BLOGGERS) people to network with and elevate each other in a faster manner then has been  happening.People don’t really have a clue about real networking, yes I like good old Dead man Quotes but they don’t make you money.
People are lost in such a stream of worthless information that they often ignore and pass up GOLDEN opportunities. I have seen many people chase the same old schemes and I have always avoided all that crap. I don’t want to be a clickbank pirate or a member of THE CHUMP Network looking for leads to amass a list and money and feel like I scammed tons of people so I can brag about my skills and show you pictures of me PIMPING IT.
No I have  past on  all those SMOKE opportunities because I want more and deserve better and so do you.

One of the things that I’m MOST HAPPY about is that I have aligned myself with some awesome bloggers and you can see this core group of WINNERS everywhere. It’s exciting to me when I see a new person come along and adopt a style of blogging like I try to do which is look out for people, EVERYONE and work hard. I have about 1000 “friends” on Facebook and 6000 + followers on twitter and so what I wouldn’t trade one of the bloggers from the ones I’m thinking about for both of those accts. The way things are one Facebook to me is it’s basically a bunch of goofs that try to make money online by pretending that they don’t want to make money online or something like that it’s confusing to me.

Twitter is basically the same to me and the ONLY  real value to me is I get to easily shoot mine and OTHERS links and it’s an EASY quick way for me to msg other bloggers.
I don’t care about either account because I want to LIMIT my time and effort on those sites and basically get  people onto this blog so I can hopefully entertain them with SOMETHING :)
The main point of this post is both of those sites and making massive amounts of money there all set now it’s time for US to get some. PERIOD :)
What ways has twitter and facebook benefited you ? Are you putting more effort helping other sites GET RICH and neglecting your own ? Think about it :) Thanks

I decided for the REST of this year I’m going to end everyone of my post with a FREE ad to one of my friends blogs. So if you want yours to be on here one day try and be my friend SILLY :) LOL  check Trey out Thanks Hit that Goofy kid with the Tee shirt on if you want to follow me on Twitter thanks >>

Also if You want me to Tweet something for you send it to me Exactly the way you want it sent and if I like you I will do and if I don’t you know what’s UP :p LOL

facebook.com/adsI preferred facebook for awhile and I guess if I had to choose it may still be, more interaction. I have a tendency to ignore the sales pitches people put on my wall, by now I know better, I am tired of getting hit by pillows though LOL.

However after saying that, I have found new, good friends, blogger etc.;) and Twitter has been a decent way to connect.

In answer to your question, I have spend alot of time answering questions for others, at least the ones I know the answers to.

  2. Facebook Sucks NOT LOL :) says:

Wow I was just thinking that I may of implied that the sites suck they don’t but the way most people interact or I should say DON’T is my real point.
I do benefit from a few friends on Facebook but I have 900 or whatever and to me most of those people are GHOST. Thanks for commenting :)
Also I do plan on making TONS of money from each site so I better chill LOL :)
.-= Facebook Sucks NOT LOL :) ´s last blog ..Facebook vs Twitter =-.

No you didnt imply they sucked, but that you werent getting enough out of them, correct?

Without FB I’d have a dead site. Over the last 30 days 8,677 of my visitors came from Facebook = 45% of my traffic…

  3. Teasastips says:

I guess it depends on how you use FB or Twitter. For me FB is about family, friends, former co-workers, etc. Out of the over 900 or so friends I have on FB, 70% I personally know. So, I don’t send marketing messages out to them. Facebook just isn’t the place for that I don’t think. However, my Fan Pages and the applications I created are paying the bills for me. So, to that extent, FB IS making me money.

Now, I was tickled when I read your statement about “dead man quotes.” Hilarious. Let me tell you the story behind those “dead man quotes:” There is an unwritten, but very real Twitter graveyard. In that graveyard are accounts that can not be found using the Twitter Search function. The reason those accounts are in the graveyard is because they have more than 30% sales links in their tweets. Meaning these accounts post more links that are not relevant to anyone but themselves.

To counter that, the posting of “dead man quotes” builds up credibility with Twitter until you get some reputable followers, i.e. the Matt Cutts of the world.

I know you don’t care for those kinds of people following you John, but some people are interested in what they have to offer.

Twitter and FB will only work for you if you know what you want them to do for you.

  4. Sheryl Loch says:

    Hey John,
I have less than 30 contacts on Facebook. These are people I know in real life or have known for years online (not just passively seen their name but, have had years of talking with all the time). I even have my daughters step mom as a friend on facebook so we can help keep the kids in communication or special family events. So, Facebook is not my “marketing” area. Even so…people get mad if I don’t except them on FB. I try to tell them that there are so many other places they can find me & that FB is my one place just for me & “family”.

As for Twitter, I don’t have a ton of followers on my personal account & that is fine. I send out what ever hits me at the moment. Natural health, pets, SEO…. If I read something good that I think others might want, then I tweet it.
I don’t get the dead man quotes either. If you have had nothing funny, stupid, or in anyway entertaining happen in your real life…then revert to a dead man.

I have never really gotten the FB thing going. I do try to devote at least 10 minutes a day on Twitter to send out some links, respond to and interact with other bloggers and RT the good tweets that are in front of me. I prefer to spend my time either writing content or actually visisting other blogs and interacting there.

  6. Trey - Swollen Thumb Entertainment says:

Hey thanks for the link love, John. I haven’t been active on FB for over a year, because the only thing people seem to use it for is to play games nowadays. I’m trying to get back into it, but it’s changed so much since 2008, that I’m not completely sure that I even have a use for it anymore. Of course, a lot of people that I’d like to keep contact with are only on FB, so I suppose I could use it to keep up with them. As far as a blogging promotional tool, I’m not sure that I need it any more than Twitter.

As for Twitter, I like it more because of the simplicity. I don’t get spammed as much on it, and because I’m super picky about who I follow, I get a lot of high quality links and messages sent to me, which I can choose to RT and share with my followers. Twitter is going to be a HUGE part of my expansion program in 2010. I’m going to get extremely aggressive with my Twitter usage, and hopefully start driving some serious traffic to my blog.

  7. chandan@work at home jobs says:

I much busy on twitter than facebook, so I think I am getting followers at twitter, each time I get interesting post I do not hesitate to retweet it. I am not so active at facebook like twitter, so if I have to choose only one between twitter and facebook, I will choose twitter.

  8. Tutorial Blog says:

I think twitter still be better than facebook in promoting an article from blog or website

  9. Flint Einstein says:

i think facebook is better than twitter.

  10. Addison@Legalize Weed says:

I prefer Twitter because of how easy it is to use. I don’t have to keep up with a million pictures, statuses, or whatnot. I simply update my status once or twice a day. :)

  11. Ken @ Cash for Mobiles says:

I have both and use Twitter for everyday chatting and updating, Facebook I use more for sharing picture and videos. But right now I reckon I use Twitter more often.

  12. Fat Lester says:

Twitter at least has some functionality via its third-party partner sites. Facebook I largely find to be an utter waste of time. In all honesty, there is a site called Mixx (mixx.com) that combines the best features from sites like Facebook, Twitter and even Digg, plus Mixx has a lot of cool features the others don’t and the community is much more personal and personable.

If I had to choose between Facebook and Twitter it’s a toss-up. Mixx beats them both hands-down in my opinion, and even has a Twitter-partner site called TweetMixx which is like a superior version of Tweetmeme with a few additional capabilities.

    I’d recommend checking it out.

  13. ICECrush says:

To be honest with you, I find twitter to be somewhat annoying. It’s hard to get a hang of it, to find real people to talk to, and some of the things I see on Twitter just suck.

Twitter is an AWESOME way to promote blogs/links if you can find good followers, but Facebook is a better community for me. It may not be targeted for ultimate promotion, but it’s more fun. I can connect with my friends and it offers me a lot more than increased traffic to Tha Good Life Reviews.

  14. jinnie@celebrities twitter says:

Social networking is an excellent way to meet new people for a variety of purposes. Whether you are looking to make new friends, to learn more about a hobby or a culture, or to build business relationships and reach out to new clients, there is a lot that social networking has to offer

  15. Martin Leet says:

I fail to understand how can twitter be any value and facebook is basically to look at pictures of semi naked chicks so facebook is the clear winner

btw i wrote an article if anybody`s interested on how one can use facebook in addition to using it for soft porn.
