Good mental health in blogging

Adgitize your web site.

Over the time I have been blogging I have had some awesome peaks and some pretty difficult times. Since most bloggers tend to keep their personal issues hidden on their blogs I wanted to take a look at some ways that I dealt with the down times and what I have done to be able to make some serious changes in my life.

I started blogging just after coming basically off the streets of Rochester N.Y My wife thankfully let me return to San Antonio after I had ran around the country drinking and drugging and living a over the edge lifestyle. I made a free blog on blogspot to have some fun and meet some people.

The time I spent learning about widgets and sidebars, themes and plugins kept me for the most part from drinking. I would do good for a few months then take off and go on a mission. I had to find a way of better dealing with my stress and the burden of past mistakes.

One of the BEST ways I have found was instead of dwelling on these negative thoughts I would snap out of it and reach out to another blogger. I started to make some good friends and found it helpful to be able to have some good people to connect with. This helped diminish the constant thoughts that people really did suck. See I had so many good friends all my life and with all the sad changes in our society and economy I found e many of  best friends would switch into dicks and it was confusing. So blogging gave me a new resource and there were so many bloggers out there I was willing to go through meeting many thinking there has to be some cool people here somewhere and there are and I’m grateful to know some of the coolest bloggers in the world.

One of the things I did is reverse my thinking on some important thoughts instead of ranting about how much San Antonio sucks for networking I worked harder and benefited from the all the time I spent alone. This time let me sort out and let go of many mental burdens.

If blogging is going to turn you into a worse version of yourself or someone who is constantly complaining about the state of the world then why do it ? One thing I learned when I had my own small engine (Lawnmower) shop in North Carolina and my friends would come by and I would complain to them about the customers. Then I noticed these friends were not coming around and I asked one of my buddies what was up and he told me the truth and it made perfect sense.

No one wants to listen to someone that always complains. I don’t. So even though you may have difficulties in your own personal life finding positive ways to deal with it HELPS :)

I always have my ipod on when online. I of course love that rock that powers you up but I also have some free meditation mp3′s and some relaxing stuff on there also. I also know that just taking a walk helps.

Last year there were some months that I made a lot of money with affiliate marketing and I mean like 5000 a month and I wasn’t prepared. Where I live there’s powerful drugs and things you can get mixed up with when your vulnerable because your mental health is all out of whack.

Because I have been practicing to kept myself in a calmer state mentally I found it works and during the holidays when I had some good money I was able to put others first and do the right thing and it felt good. I learned I don’t have to FREAK out during good or bad times and with keeping myself calm I’m able to THINK and make the best choice. When your angry and resentful your thinking doesn’t produce good results. So I think taking a life and death realistic look at your own mental health is very important.

Just remember that little tweet or msg on Facebook you send someone can really make a difference. I often send people little shouts like Hi was thinking about you hope all is well. A simple message but I feel better and hopefully they know I care.

Now some positive stuff :) I found this cool site. It has a really cool way to connect with people.

Hit the banner to check it out it’s a real nice site :)

Finally making mistakes are going to happen the way we deal with them is KEY. Bad days come and they go reach out to someone you just may make their day :)

I also want to say that yes I may sometimes be overly sensitive and pessimistic but blogging has surely helped me change my whole life around and to my real blogging friends I do really appreciate every one of you

Thanks for stopping by

any tips on how you have dealt with tough times ?

Hi John, you’ve said it well. If you told me this a year ago I probably couldn’t imagine how will blogging help at all! Truth is, I learned so much from this experience until I quit my day job and go fulltime with it. lol.. It really changed my life and meeting wonderful people around the world is a fantastic feeling. Blogging helped me to grow and even earned me some valuable friendships too. :-) There was a moment in 2009 that was pretty tough for me, I’m thankful I had loving support from a few blogger friends. Other ways I just listen to music, calm myself with prayers and try to think positive.

Oops, a lengthy comment. hihi.. anyhow, thanks for sharing this with us. I wish you a better day ahead!

I don’t know you at all, but I’m proud of you for making something of yourself and taking the positive steps necessary to provide for your future!

I hit my absolute lowest point in my life in late 2005. Since then, I’ve been working on building my business. It’s given me focus. I was a little too casual about it though until mid 2008, when I finally decided to take some action and make it a reality.

Now, in 2010, I have a ton of ideas on file… more than enough to start enough projects for several years. This is what has kept me in positive spirits… the possibilities that exist for me and my business if I can just manage to get some momentum going.

Everyone has a lot of potential though to create great things, as long as they are breathing and thinking.
