Do you STILL doubt do follow ? Google page rank update

by John Sullivan on December 31, 2009 · 45 comments

in bloggers, blogging, blogging tips, do follow blogs

Well after my notebook crashing last night,my friends on Facebook msg me that the new site Bloggerluv is throwing trojan alerts I was off to BED LOL :)

This morning it was nice as I was attempting to fix the new site I noticed the green bar up a tad to PR2 I said Oh snap they did an update :)

To be honest I didn’t mind the PR3 because I was more apt to experiment a PR4 doesn’t really matter much except when your at 3. I was glad to finally make some move because I was riding a 3 for a while :(

Google isn’t to liberal with the page rank to blogs. I checked a few blogs of my friends, some maintained, some went down ( I know how that feels ) and most people probably don’t even care.

When I first started blogging Google Page Rank was all the rage. People were like CRACKHEADS salivating for an increase. Soon after I started this blog it was a PR4 like right off the bat so I guess it’s fitting I return, now to head for that PR6 that I deserved :P

What did you get ? Did you get a GOOD change > Do you care ?

I was HAPPY that my blogs I like page got a 4 for the people on there :)

Want to be on there WHAT YOU GOT ? LOL Besides money because OF COURSE I don’t sell links right Google ? ;)

On a final note just goes to show you that Google (for now ) Loves do follow and so do I :) Peace

thanks for stopping by and YES GOOGLE waits for the holidays it’s tradition :)

No changes to my web site (still PR 4) but I’m more excited about the Caffeine update that is going up in first part of January 2010— the Search Engine results should improve slightly, when that goes “live.”

I still love being do-follow as it has many advantages , its most likely backlinked and added in many do-follow directories , my page rank jumped to PR3 ,
This certainly makes visitors comment more and more :)
I just wish commentluv be available for blogspot users

Don’t know, don’t care. The only Google number that matters for any given page is the SERP position for the keywords that actually matter.

And while we’re on the subject of pages, the PR most people want to tout is the “home” page, generally which is the last freakin page I ever want anyone to visit anyways. A visitor to an internal page is an order of magnitude more valuable than a visitor to the “home” page.

I decided a whiule back that PR only matters if you are selling ads to someone foolish enough to pay you more for a longer green bar.

@Dane Morgan@Word Press Blogging: This blog and many many pages have page rank and I don’t care because I already see everyday that for any keyword I want I will take the number one spot over some POWERFUL sites :) So I like what I have done and I’m only just beginning actually :) Happy New Year

I’m still playing with the idea of dofollow as a reward for email subscribers. In other words if you are subscribed to the blog from the email address you use, you get a followed link, otherwise, not.

I went by your site real quick last night.
Your like the guy who says I don’t care about weed and has a sweet ass POUND of it :)
Would it be a plugin for that ?
I like this bloggerluv plugin :) When you comment it doesn’t leave 1 do follow comment link it adds 3 with a COOL BloggerLUV badge that’s irresistable to click. Maybe a Little HOT Chick laying sideways :)
thanks for your help :)

Page rank is important. It is to bloggers what the oscars is to the stars. But what is even more important in alexa traffic, which it appears, you are doing very well. Luv to see your pr go to 6 and your alexa below 50,000 in 2010. Cheers!

John,

I have maintained my PR4 for about 8 months and I am a do-follow blog. I am more concerned about converting fans than some stat.

Happy New Year!

Well I really love my loadofbullshit blog because I know that google will always keep it at PR0 because I think it’s finds the word offensive, which is surprising because they are so full of shit themselves. :D

Wassupblog went down to 3 but I ain’t fussed because I don’t write to please Google.

That’s awesome man, yeah I noticed your move up to PR4 right away as I have my rank tool bar on all the time. By site and blog both moved from 1 to 2 so that’s not bad.

PR is not important for me as it not give me traffic, I think concentrating on SEO is better as it define how your website placed on search result. Anyway, I got a PR3 from PR0.

I was at PR4 for a while, but went down to PR3. I was not happy, but not upset either. When I was PR4, my blog was DoFollow, but changed it and then I went down to PR3. I have since installed the DoFollow plugin and hope to go back to PR4.

BTW, I don’t mind as my blog (Serradinho Blog) has improved a lot and has become a bit more popular in the last six months. More than I ever thought :)

I think bloggers out there still have doubts and it boils down to what they want to achieve long term. There will always be the followers and the non-followers. I see it as the light vs the dark, maybe even like starwars (either have the force or you are against it).

I didn’t even notice that there was a page rank update I guess its because my website is still the same page rank that it has been for the past year, hehe. While I would like an increase, I am just glad it didn’t go down!

Till then,

Jean
