This is part one of my series “How to be the King of Blogging” we will look at what method is best.
Disciplined Blogger
A discipline blogger to me is someone that follows a format (niche) pretty tight and they don’t use profanity, they stick to the script. I could never be a discipline blogger in that sense because I don’t have the capacity to stick with anything much less the same topic everyday
My experience with disciplined bloggers is that they do good for a while, they could do alot more reaching out to other bloggers and most are not do follow, meaning they think their shit is all that. The bottom line is once they snap out of the delusion that their site isn’t all that unique and they lack the real knowledge of how to make money online, They quit I have seen it hundreds of times….

Going Rouge
to me is where you mix it up and write about whatever you want. You may confront some new scam like Sponsored Tweets one day and write about some cool blogs you know the next. Going rouge is alot of fun, I haven’t actually entered that mode yet but I’m preparing to go full time ROUGE with some discipline mixed in
That is the point I think it’s best to mix it up. No one wants to write about marijuana everyday would you ?
Maybe you don’t want to be King and your a casual blogger that enjoys writing and you have no interest in being number one in anything. Well I can respect that but to me blogging is like a game. Your going to win some and loose some but if you don’t quit you will be in the place your supposed to and it will change your life..
November marks two years since I first made a blog on blogspot and I want you to know that ultimately if your goal is to make it to the top it’s going to take time. But there will come a day when instead of you calling the companies they will be calling you. Instead of you having to ask people to RT your post and wasting time bookmarking it everywhere on the planet, people will do that for you. If your goal is to make a certain amount or in my case to know the coolest bloggers in the world it’s going to happen. Remember people like John Chow and Shoemoney have years of a lead on you. On this blog each day we’re going to look at just how to get right up on their ass ;0)

Do you mix it up ? What method of blogger are you ? What TOP secrets do you want to share in the do follow blog comment section
Ok I’m out MIX IT UP
The number one factor to me in blogging is your design. I desperately need a custom theme and am working on that but when people visit your site the first thing they think about is how it LOOKS
You can have a shitty blog and a great design and get away with it I have seen plenty of these. Or you can have a shitty blog like mine that just needs some tweaks and you ready to roll
Thanks for stopping BY
This was taken from the recent article in the New York Times
Izea receives at least 15 percent of the advertiser’s payment to more popular Twitter users, and up to half for the less distinguished.
Izea owns sponsored tweets, I do like the owner but the business model is corrupt.
To me that is just plain wrong and after I read this I decided I won’t get involved in scams like that. If you can’t treat everyone the same then to me you ain’t shit. I don’t care how much money you have or don’t have, where your from or how awesome you think you are I will treat everyone the same. I reach my hand out it’s up to you to take it and if you think your to important or rich not to then Go fuck yourself. You will be the same kind of loser that is kissing my ass soon LOL
Treat everyone right and you will find the people that your supposed to be close with and know the ones to stay away from. Period
Off to enjoy my day with my son
Peace

Hi John,
I think the most important part of everything is finding your purpose and then simply doing it. When we discover that inner flow of purpose within us, this is when things will keep going even if we don’t see the results that we so much aspire for.
Truly believing in your purpose and daily taking the action steps to achieve it is totally essential to get to where we want to get.
All the best,
Eren

I don’t mind writing about marijuana everyday
lol
I just write about what interests me on that day, not necessarily what I’m supposed to be writing about. You do the same and that’s why I like your blog – your writing is very raw which is cool to read because nothing is worse than a blog post that reads like a boring paper article. Bottom line is: if you care about what you are writing, the passion shows and that’s what will grab loyal followers. later bro.

Good article but if its coming from John–its gotta be rogue!
It makes sense to me that you would get more targeted traffic and make more money with a focus.
If money isn’t your main concern, then you are free to blog about what pleases you. That is an enviable position to be in.
There is certainly a place for rogue on the web. It is a big place.

I used to be a discipline blogger because that was what I thought I was supposed to be.
Thing is, it just aint me, and since I started writing like I speak I’ve definitely become more of a rouge blogger.
It is more fun and it feels a lot less like work, which is why all my disciplined blogs got sold off because I couldn’t be bothered to spend 5+ hours a week writing crap that I didn’t care about.

Being a disciplined blogger isn’t easy and it can feel very limiting.. coming up with new ways to look at the same topic every single day

Great thoughts, John!
First off, I sometimes play it rouge or maybe I was playing it now. I have to make ends meet so I revamped some of my blog content.
However, I do make a point that somehow I don’t go astray with my blog’s main topic otherwise, it wouldn’t define what my blog is all about.
I’m too close to one year in blogging and so far, I didn’t manage to kiss someone’s ass who thinks they are that important. We have a lot of those scumbags here so I stay away.

Good post, there is a lot of valuable info there. I think if you want to go rogue you should start another blog. In my Tycoon Blogger blog, I try to keep it tight and only post about blogging tips, MMO, social media an other web 2.0 stuff. I have several other domain names that I will be busting out soon for when I really want to post about anything I want. I think I will start to develop OpinionatedBlogger.com for that kind of stuff.

I have three blogs so I can change styles as needed. One blog definitely fits being a disciplined blog, as it’s my business blog. One is very much a rogue blog, in that I go in whatever direction I want to. The third is somewhat of a mixture, as it’s disciplined because it has to stay on its general point, which is financial news, but I mix in commentary, which is definitely rogue since it’s my opinion.

I would aspire to have a multi-author blog that would enable it to be a disciplined blog..multi-blogger blogs in my opinion are the way to go.
I myself am to un-disciplined to be an organized disciplined blogger. I think you are right that the rouge blogging is the way to go.

Not sure why, but I always try to stay disciplined when I know I’m having more fun as the rogue. Its been a tough few weeks though, and that’s when I know I’m going to end up posting random stuff or nothing at all! Bots like it if you can stay single-minded every post and word, but I think the real humans out there appreciate some mix up in the topics. I know I do as a reader anyway…
Glad to see your site back though, I missed it a few weeks ago before I had my own downtime / time away from the computer.

I reckon I went Rouge a long time ago. Other than my real live business I doubt I have much discipline at all other than to always try and produce the best content I can.
As to designs, I think I’ve found one that suits me as it allows me to easily change it to fit the season or mood.
Now, as to those bloggers who don’t need to ask for a retweet and shit, I reckon most of them have forgotten their roots and have left one of their most important assets in their wake and are too big for their boots to even realize it.
Izea….well, an offshoot of PayPal, who also have forgotten who got them to where they are, and now seems to be struggling to get their mojo back.
Me, I’m in it for the pure enjoyment and I’ll take whatever bucks comes my way in the process.
Tweeted.

Going Rouge is the most impressive of methods, and takes with my personality quite well. I shall see about this method more because I want to become a career man.
Only in America does a government confiscate 100 MILLION pounds of marijuana at the border in a single year and burn it instead of turning it into 1 TRILLION dollars in tax free revenue. Only in America does a country in such despair fail to recognize the value in confiscating marjiuana from Mexico and turn it into our financial gain. Only in America does the people not have a real say in what should be done to better our country. I guess it could be worse, we could live in Somalia. I guess America will do………….. for now
