Last night our President went to Dover AFB where we bring our fallen military. Recently I have been learning more about Afghanistan and the Taliban. I can understand the President’s dilemma on one hand I know he wants to bring everyone home , the other is al qaeda and the Taliban.
Here is what I would do. I would immediately send more troops. I would have drones destroying every known site of the enemy. I would………..you know I don’t know what I would do actually. I would love to see our troops come home. If we leave are these people still a real threat to us ? Are we really going to play police for the world does that come with being the only real Super Power.
I don’t envy the choice The President has to make it’s one of those damn if you do damn if you don’t.
What would YOU DO ? come home or BLAST EM ?
If the President does decide to pursue Afghanistan then do it 100% use every single weapon leave no stone unturned and catch that Bin Laden already.
WHO is this GUY ? I don’t like him
but WOW he did some excellent pitching.

Yea, not sure what I would do either..it is a tough situation. I know I would make sure that I supported those troops that are already there.

I am not quite sure..I am hoping the Phils are going to win tonight, but the Yanks looked like they were dropping the ball onto the field at will in game 4.
We shall see.

It’s a tough decision and it affects a lot of people. The people in Afghaniston have to pick a legitimate President and Gov’t in the November runoff election and then we can see what direction they are headed in. Too many brave soldiers are being lost everyday so I hope they resolve this fast.

I’d bring the troops home.. Why police a world that doesn’t want policing? It just makes America look bad.. I’d redirect my attention to domestic matters, secure my borders and warn the enemy off..
The liklihood is that they’re unable to truly attack and threaten America, and if they try, them completely blitz them

President Obama is in an unenviable position with this war. Another one of George W Bush’s good bye presents, the economy is the other one. He happens to be unable to resolve either of these problems quickly.
My friend’s son is over there, and he just went back to Afghanistan 2 weeks ago. The problem with sending the troops home, is that we are so deeply entrenched there, that just uprooting our troops immediately is not an option, it would cause sheer pandemonium, possibly here and definitely in the Middle East. We would end up right back in another war, but much worse I believe if we withdraw quickly.
Right now we are the only stabilizing force over there, and although I would love for this unwarranted war to end, and the carnage to stop, the enemy we are fighting are: unseen and sometimes unknown, have gained sympathetic domestic ‘terrorists’ right here in our own country, and have managed to hide so well within the mountains of Afghanistan that we are almost at a disadvantage tracking them down.
Cheney, Bush, et al did not adequately strategize the intelligence pre-war. They simply went in with a knee jerk reaction to appease instant emotions tied to 9/11.
If you do your historical research on the peoples of the Middle East, you will discover, they will fight forever, until there is no earth, particularly if they believe (and they do) that they are fighting the infidels (us).
We are in a hellish situation, that has no real, clear solution that will solve the problem we initially went over there for.

I’m going with the majority (60%) of the population who says PULL OUT NOW.
Any women seeking political asylum should be given refuge in Fremont, CA (where a thriving community of 200,000 Afghanis exists in the US).
I don’t see any positive future for the middle east. It has been a bloody, barbaric place for about as long as there has been people living there, and I strongly doubt that’s going to change anytime soon. It’s nice to believe that we can work to achieve peace over there, but my feelings are that the people who think we can are delusional. If it were possible to achieve peace, then I’d be in favor of the war, but I just see our government bleeding us dry to support a region that is hopeless.
I am in total favor of withdrawing all troops overseas, bringing them home to work towards an airtight national DEFENSE. (If you don’t know the difference between defense and offense, look it up. Right now we’re on the offense) We should be declaring war on Al Qaeda and pursuing them wherever they happen to be. And lastly, we should work on establishing diplomacy with all nations and learn to respect their sovereignty.
Otherwise, we’re just heading for a giant nuclear doomsday.

It seems everyone agrees that we need to get out of the war we are in, but sadly there is no good way to do this. While there are many suggestions none are ideal for us to get out and to take care of the terrorism that will take over if we do not finish it off before we go.

Maybe the war should just end, the soviets had to learn that the hard way after losing so many of their brave soldiers who fought without complaining in the years of hard battle in that horrible environment. Maybe as Ron Paul says, we should protect the borders and stay out of other countries…let them take care of their own affairs as they let us.
Right on. Like Nike says, Just do it. Bring them home. Let’s have a national defense, instead of a foreign empire.

No doubt that the pitcher from the Phillies pitched a hell of a game all though the Yankee’s are getting ready to end this pretty quick.

Kinda makes you wonder: how did war or peace (whatever you want to call it, Orwell) ever get done before the “policeman” of the world arrived? We are always thankful when a policeman shows up at our home, right? Unless, of course, we called him. If he wasn’t invited, he is unwelcome, right?
The middle east has been a war zone for more than two thousand years. What makes any rational person believe that any police or war activity will STABILIZE Afghanistan or any other country in the region. That defies logic.
Would we react any differently if (when) a “police” force comes to America? Let’s hope not.
The bottom line is that the Afghanis nor the Iraqis want our forces inside their country, at least not the common man/woman. The elites who collect and divvy out the foreign aid very much want to keep that gravy train flowing. But the average person on the street prefers to have their country run by their own citizens, not by the world government (excuse me, The United Nations) our military are policing for. They feel just like we do about national sovereignty.
As far as terrorist attacks arising from our military leaving Afghanistan or Iraq, I would conclude that an attack would be more likely with our continued presence.
Bring them home. Cut out the war profits (the Real Reason for any war.)

I agree it is a tough situation. I say either go all out, and pull out all the stops and win. If not pull out…just do something
As for the world Series, the Yankee’s pulled it out. Rivera is still awesome.
