Twenty years ago there would be no comparsion as Rochester NY was an excellent city. World head quarters of Kodak, Xerox, Bausch and Lomb and many other powerful corporations Rochesterians had it going on. Then the destruction and welfare state came companies sold out like suckers and moved to Mexico leaving small fragments behind. Except Xerox has remained faithful to Rochester.
Crime has always been a problem in Rochester and you could get killed in both cities or anywhere now for that matter.
Rochester has a rampant crack and hard drug in your face problem. San Antonio has alot of heroin addicts and crack is starting to pop up finally all over.

I like Rochester alot better. People there are smarter and will have your back. San Antonio doesn’t have many people that impress me actually. They are broke and not to bright for the most part and I mean all kinds and colors of people DIMWITS
Rochester if you have balls and are street smart you can make money 24/7 I don’t care if you have a dollar in your pocket you can get something to happen. Here please. People here settle for shit jobs and a low quality of lifestyle in terms of FUN and entertainment.
Well I will be making a decision soon if I will be going to ROCK ROCHESTER or stay in this dusty ass town. I’m leaning towards going until almost Christmas and come back here to visit my son and wife with hopefully a pocket full of MONEY
Do you like where you live ? Where is the best place you ever lived ?
Do you need a room mate ? LOL

I love where I live right now in Wildomar, CA except sometimes in the summer it’s hot enough for you to erupt into flames if you don’t get back from the mailbox in time.
I’ve got hills to go hiking in right outside my front door, then not too far over those hills is the pacific ocean. I can be surfing waves in about an hour.
I can be at the ski resorts in about an hour too; I can drive all the way to Vegas without switching freeways; we’ve got the biggest casino in California 15 minutes from here and this is a relatively small town by Southern California standards.
Yeah, I like it here.

I like the environment I am in. Country, quiet…. no neighbors. But I have loved many places for different reasons.

I live in the Sacramento region, which is the 35th smartest region in the US. Of course we are the ugly stepchild of San Francisco (the second smartest region).
Our 3 acres is in the Sierra Foothills, half-way between Lake Tahoe and the “Flatlands” (central valley where Sacramento is located).
At 2000 foot elevation, we avoid the winter fog that envelops the “Flatlands” for months at a time. In December or January the daytime temps are near 60 degrees while the Central Valley is socked in fog at around 45 degrees.
In the summertime, when Sacramento is 100 degrees– our home is only 90 and it cools down much faster at night. We don’t run the AC 24/7 like the poor souls in the Flatlands.
Like Wildomar (above), we have plenty of hiking trails within miles of our house (one is several hundred feet from our door, taking us to Lake Clementine in the Auburn State Recreation Area state park lands).
Finally, our school systems are solvent & we have decent fire & sheriff protection here (although we have zero crime rate).
In the recent foreclosure crisis, only ONE home (out of 45 in our 3 mile radius) is Bank Owned.
I love how the “Live Traffic Feed” says that I’m from “Grass Valley, California” (love the name “Grass” hehehe)…. too bad my ISP is about 32 miles from that town! Well, its appropriate nonetheless.
I like where I am, I’ve bounced all over South Africa (from johannesburg, to Port Elizabeth, to East London, to Knysna) Johannesburg is the most dangerous and fast-paced, but I love it here.. The people are sharp, there’re actually jobs and money available and all in all, this is home for me
