Comment redirects ? FAIL

Just wanted to write a quick post on my thoughts about these new commenting plugins you see some lame ass bloggers using.

twitterking
Now it’s your choice whether you make your comments do follow or not and just because 99.9% of the coolest bloggers in the world do doesn’t mean you have to.
BUT if you have people taking the time to leave their name, email and blog’s url on your site and your using SEO super comments or any of the other lame plugins that basically change the identity of the commenter’s url to show up on another page on your site then I hope people stop coming to your site.
People visit blogs for all kinds of reasons but to dupe people into leaving comments by having a spot for their url and you know that it’s only going to forward back to another page on your site then you have to ask yourself if your a scumbag or not ? I think you are Period.
Sure this is an excellent way to get more pages indexed and all that but it’s wrong.
Some people online think they are so important that they disregard any thought of the very people visiting their site. I don’t care how powerful you think what you have to say is Blogging is a two way street.
I spend more time on other people’s sites then my own. I see some people OBSESSED with their site. What good is that if your going to be there by yourself :)
People aren’t stupid and I encourage everyone to boycott any site that uses this plugin.
it will look something like this when you click your url it will go to a page with comments

>>>>>>>>http://mylameassblog.com?cid=31478

Bloggers leave comments to have their say but if they said they don’t also  do it for clicks or page rank they’re LYING LOL :)

So have you been comment JACKED :) what do you think about the site owners choice to do this to their readers ?

PS I wanted to take a second to thank EVERYONE for their support  Yeah YOU :)

I recently seen a mid level make money blogger eliminate his comments totally now that dude is really tripping LOL :) Yeah Good luck with that ………….

I have never experienced that so far and I hope that whoever does that should stop cheating his readers because it’s a hopeless tactic and rather distasteful.

I’ve just switched my site to “dofollow” and stopped using Disqus since I’m confident with my anti-spam comment plugin aside from the fact that I moderate comments.

What I’ve noticed is that some blogs boast the “You comment, I follow” thing but upon checking with FF extension, it appears that it’s a “nofollow” or have switched to using Disqus which blocks the “dofollow” plugin even when activated.

I haven’t been comment jacked, but it would be ridiculously lame if I was. For all I know, I could have been comment jacked and not known it though. I don’t have my ear as close to the ground as you do, but hey that’s another reason to keep visiting your blog often. Just don’t jack my comments ok ;)

I love the comments that come in the form of “Great post, I am bookmarking your blog”. I mark that as spam! If you can’t elaborate about the article, it doesn’t get approved.

I know what plugin you talking and the guy that had it made. It’s not comment jacked. You still have your link, its just on a comment page. I love when people rant about something but this one its no point.

@Deneil Let me give you an example :)

thank you :P
I will stand corrected you actually do have your link on the second page
BUT it’s just shady in my opinion sort of like iframes all these sites are now using.

The link is there and links to other articles that the commentator commented on. It’s in no way shady and its not an ifame. People are allow to do whatever with their blogs. It’s not like their holding a gun to your head saying comment.

Commenting should be more about voicing your opinion and not what you can get out of it. On my blog all links in comments a nofollow, there’s no keywordluv nor commentluv. Yet I still get more comments than most people do.

You comment for backlinks you will get commentators looking for backlinks. You comment for PR and you will get commentators looking to get PR. As the saying goes, you get what you give.

I see what you mean. It asks you for your website URL in the comment box, but it’s useless to enter it, because the URL linked to your name is back to the comment itself, not your website. So really, they shouldn’t even have you input your website at all, because they aren’t using it. It’s just a waste of time. And if they are marketing themselves as a DoFollow blog, then they are certainly not using it the way people would assume they are.

I see that now … that reminds me of Tyme’s site (9rules/ tymesaid dot com) if the comments aren’t closed within 3 days of a post, or never opened in the first place .. it doesn’t matter anyway because there’s no link to any name in the comments anyway.

Ok here’s the deal with me.

I still comment on both no follow and do follow. I have read and seen so many great articles that have been both styles. I myself as a blogger have all do follow and believe in do follow 100%

I’m like you and love to give back to the people that comment on my blog. I think it’s a sign of respect.

Some people don’t know and because of this you can never judge those ones.

Just came to your blog after seeing the Tech Jaws review about it. Lol..i like the way you talk about things. Been checking around your other posts but this one was like made me to leave a comment. Really even I hate those bloggers who are “scumbags” as you said it.

I normally read a lot of blog posts that interest me everyday and basically spend more time reading than blogging lol. Even though I put about 3 to 4 posts per day on my blog, they normally take about 2hours total but I spend about every few free minutes reading some blogs or the other. I leave a comment when I need to say something… and now if I come later..some days later and see the blogger as if ripped my username or comment…well its a big BYE even though how much popular the blogger is.

I’ve never noticed this, but I don’t keep track of whether my comments really do link back to my sites or not, so it may have happened to me and I don’t know it. I like to set my blogs to do-follow simply to encourage comments. I’d think that pulling something like this would just cause comments to drop off once people realize it. What’s the point?

Wow, you got loads of comments on this one. I can see why they would probably do that, but I can’t figure why they would? Yes, they will be linking to their own site, but that does not help others at all. Sort of being selfish if you asked me.

What is this SEO super comments? From what you say it changes the commenters URL to a URL on your own site? Surely this is nonesense?! :S
