christian OMG I cant believe he said that ?
From POTPOLITICS

Before I launch into all the reasons I have come to believe that there is no God you have to give God credit for having such a great impact on man’s history. Not bad for some THING that doesn’t exist.

The main reason I’m writing this is to give YOU a chance to share your experience on the issue.

I don’t want or need to point out reasons why I think there is no God or if there is one I believe  that he isn’t doing a very good job.

What Father hides from his children ? What Father plays head  games with his kids. Do this this and that and maybe you will be with me someday ?

The whole God THING is crazy in reality. The God thing has to alter reality to try to prove whatever it is they are trying to prove. The God thing would of been a great thing if it  was true. I would love to see all my old friends and family members one day .

Wherever that heaven place is would be ok with me.

When I lived near the ocean it was easy to see that there was some THING that surely was responsible for all this. Then I see a small fish get eaten and think if God cared about him?

Fact is much of the years that I chased this God thing and tried to live according to spiritual principles my life was a roller coaster, often a mess. Either I was therefore but the Grace of God or shit out of luck.

I don’t want or need to point out any strengths or weaknesses of people that believe in God. I’m not trying to belittle anyone. I would try to convince you of this HIGHER POWER when I lived in that mindset.

The real reason I’m telling you this is because I have peace. I know they say that the Lord, Holy Spirit gives peace as a gift.  I know all that but I want you to know that I don’t fear death. I believe that I will die and pass to whatever that means. Since I have never died I can’t tell you what that will be obviously but I can tell you that I’m doing great without God but is HE doing ok without me ? j/k

What have  been your beliefs ? Have you had the same beliefs since birth and will till death ?

Do you have any way that you can prove to me that there is a GOD ? Thought so.

I want to tell you that I hope I’m wrong and that the whole story about Jesus is true. I do know that I have some kind of spirit and actually cry more then you may think. I don’t hate anyone nor do I believe there is a God or a devil.  So what do you really BELIEVE? thanks

PS: the one thing that is weird is I know people will feel sorry for me saying wow I wish he had the Lord. Don’t feel sorry for me I live a nice peaceful life with my wife and son there’s food in the fridge and I’m grateful for what I have. I do wish there was a God but there’s not, sorry.

I have seen people communicating with “the other side” via channeling (google it up!). Yeah, yeah … that sounds weird, I know. I did not believe in life after death, in the existing of some spiritual or in good and evil. Well, I completely changed my mind. I KNOW there is something else – if you want to call it “god” is up to you.

If people want to belive let them. If this gives their lives the purpous, let them belive. But don’t make me agree with your silly “moral rules” – just like you I can belive whatever I want.

Ironically as I grow older I find myself working hard towards my faith and I mean my faith in Jesus Christ. When I was younger I couldn’t care less. I hated God, I spoke bad of him and disgraced his name.

I was young and didn’t know what I was saying… perhaps still to this day I know not what I speak.

I have been going to church on Sundays hoping to re kindle my relationship with my faith but I’m having issues. When I see pain, hungry and violence around me I’m reminded that god cannot exist in these hard time he would have saved us. When I see new born babies dying with cancer it makes the belief in my faith that much harder.

Overall it’s a word in process and I’m truly trying to fond faith once again.

What a topic John haha!

I was brought up as a Lutheran, but that religion did not really emphasize a relationship with Christ or reading the Bible. As a college student, I called myself a Christian Existentialist.

Within the last year or so, I have been attending Sunday service at a local non-denominational church which does emphasize a relationship with the Lord.
I read the Word everyday, and attend several Bible Studies a week.

I won’t try to convince you either John, but I will and have prayed for you amigo.

I grew up in a pretty strict Christian home. When I say pretty strict, I mean very strict. My parents were very harsh about movies, music, church, not cursing etc… you get the point. I am a little older now, married with kids and although I don’t agree with everything my parents did, they did an awesome job. I drink beer, smoke a little, curse a little and live a pretty normal life. Not your prototypical Christian, but I do have a relationship with God. My family doesn’t go to church every Sunday and I’m not a Sunday school teacher, but I’m sure glad my parents brought me up the way they did. The lifestyle I grew up around was so healthy and encouraging that I have a hard time saying a single negative thing. For there are plenty of negatives, but a lessened learned through each…I guess what I’m trying to say is that I was fortunate enough to have just enough freedom in my life to be able to to choose my own beliefs, but I’m not one of those angry kids who hates his over religous parents…I see way to many people that push God away because their parents were idiots and pushed God on them. ..

It is good way to communicate and i am sure. I go to church on every Saturdays and Sundays. I feel very relaxed and calm. It gives a lot of peace to mind.

I see where you’re coming from but the consistent counterargument I find particularly effective is that those who are “anti-God” focus on the content of the concept of God. They seem to ignore that “God” involves worship which is a complex of behaviors. If you strip out the content and replace it with money, sex, whatever “secular” or non-”God” you can find, the behaviors/thinking/attitude are the same but many of those who label themselves “atheists” would find nothing wrong with this. Ironic, don’t you think?

It doesn’t matter whether you have faith or don’t have faith. Live well, love much, laugh often. Make the most of life, contribute and care.

John, I do wish you believed differently, but respect your right to your own belief system. There is one tiny thing you said that caught my attention, however. You presented the idea that God “hides from his children.”

This truth has actually come to mean much to me – that God remains just beyond reach. I know you may not understand or agree with my take on it, but I see God much of the time hiding just beyond our reach, just beyond the next circumstance, like a Dad playing hide and seek with his toddler – hoping to be caught.

In fact, I think we only grow if we continue seeking Him. Just the thoughts of one believer.
