I am in a local market so doing it this way doesn't exactly look very attractive on the page but over the years I do feel it has helped with my rankings for the keywords. I have not tried the Google images technique that some of you are referring to but it sounds like it does make a lot of sense, although I'll have to figure out a way to make it apply to the local market that I'm going after. They don't like keyword optimized articles...and the fact that this particular news organization does not get as much traffic as they desire, proves the point to me.
