First of all, I would like to thank everyone that showed concern and care for me. My doctor’s appointment turned out fine. When I went in, my blood pressure was slightly elevated, but not much for concern. One of the things I didn’t like about the blood pressure medication I’m on, was that it makes me sleepy, as if I’ve have been hitting a blunt all day. That’s not good. I mean if I’m going to feel like I’m smoking ganja, then at least let me reap the benefits from it!
But, instead, I have been trying some natural remedies to help my body defeat high blood pressure. There are a few things I’ve been doing on my own, that the doctors don’t or won’t tell you about. There all natural remedies, and doctors do their best everyday to confuse us by telling us, supplements and natural remedies don’t work.
Well, that’s not true! There are lots of ways to treat high blood pressure safely and naturally without prescription drugs. With my younger sisters’ help, we have done just that!
My sister is into homeopathic remedies, she hates prescription meds and won’t take any pills the doctor prescribes for her. Instead, she will exercise, eat sensibly, hardly eats any fried foods, and eats multitudes of fresh fruits and veggies. She and I just completed a 5K walk last weekend for the Susan G Komen 2009 Race For The Cure St Louis. http://www.flickr.com/photos/teasa/sets/72157619911076767.
Anyway, I took her advice, changed my eating habits, substituting fresh fruit and veggies (I love salads) for many of the unhealthy things in my diet. Then I also started back on my regimen of taking Omega-3 Fish Oil tablets daily. These little wonder pills are great for heart health, and lowering your blood pressure. But, they only work if you are eating right and cut out all the salt in your diet (which I have done).
Also, I am a distributor for a Liquid Multivitamin called GBG 10-in-One, that I use in a smoothie. GBG has all the most powerful vitamin supplements our bodies need in one drink. I created a smoothie using GBG, plain yogurt, and frozen fruit. It tastes wonderful, gives me energy (counteracting the effects of the blood pressure medicine) and just makes me feel better all around.
Last, my sister studies Essential Oil blends. These are straight from the Old Testament in the Bible, and I tell you they work! She researched a blend for high blood pressure, and gave me a small bottle of it to use daily. This stuff is awesome! Not only has my pressure come down from all these things, I feel like a new woman!
Thanks again everyone for your care and concern, I feel much better. And just my writing this article made me think about my life and whether I was living my life to the extreme. It made me wonder about all the things I hadn’t done, and what I would do differently if I had the chance.

Thanks John, you are the very definition of what friends are. If just a few bloggers were as kind and giving as you are, we might not have so many complaints about bloggers being selfish and self serving. Have a Happy Fathers Day John!

Thanks Robert…Yeah I am saltless and it does not bother me one bit. As far as being calm and composed, darlin’ I am as cool as a cucumber. Anger has never been my friend. I am slow to anger. My problem is the weight. However, I’ve been playing softball this summer, I walk a couple of times a week in the morning usually about a mile. And I have cut my portions in half as far as eating meals are concerned. Thanks for your advice though!

I’m still young and I hope to never have to deal with the whole high blood pressure thing as it is not something my parents have had to deal with themselves, but your advice seems sound and one never knows. Thanks for sharing you story and the remedy.

Glad to hear you are trying the homeopathic remedies. Although I’m not a medical expert, I’m almost certain that some people’s conditions would be better if doctor’s would just suggest natural alternatives instead of all of the Rx’s. Of course, they wouldn’t make their bonuses from the pharmaceutical companies if they did that, so it’s likely not to happen unless you know a really good, caring doctor.
