What would you do? Would you be angry because you never got around to traveling to the exotic places you said you wanted to go? Or would you live your life like a scene from the movie “The Bucket List?”
Recently, I got sick. So sick I had to drive myself to the emergency room. I didn’t know what was wrong with me, only that I didn’t feel like myself. My entire right side from my shoulder to my finger tips was tingling. Also I had a splitting headache that I just couldn’t get rid of. On top of that, I couldn’t sleep that night.
Just so you know, I was diagnosed with hypertension the year my son died (2005), and the high blood pressure has hung around every since. I’ve been playing softball and walking lately, and that has helped keep my pressure down tremendously.
But now as I sit here and write this, I’m wondering if all this is doing me any good. My left leg is seriously swollen and I don’t know why. Hopefully, its from the leg injury I sustained last Friday while playing softball. But it feels like fluid is backing up in my leg. Not good.
The good thing is, I have a doctors appointment tomorrow afternoon. Knowing the doctors, they will want to increase the dosage of my medicines. That’s always a lot of fun.
You know, in all of this I still have God. And no matter what happens, my life has been very, very good.

That’s very scary, and I hope that the doctors find out exactly what is going on so they can take care of it appropriately.
Not that I have any medical education or experience, but one thing you may want to consider if possible is alternative treatment. I have known a lot of people with a variety of ailments that all required medicines that eventually clashed with each other and led to even more serious problems. But then they started using natural cures where possible to cut out some of the side effects, changed diets, etc. and noticed improvements in things they thought was just inevitable because of age.
I think the thing I would most want to do is spend time with those I love, especially my husband. That would be most important.

Wow this caught me a little off guard. Usually me and LaTease would be going back and forth on who made more this month. I do allowed “certain” people to access this blog via cell phone, email etc. It’s an eyeopener because although I may ponder “life” way to much the reality is tomorrow is Not guaranteed to anyone.

I will be thinking about you and keep me posted.
Shit I’m surprised I’m still alive so every day is a gift actually. I can relate to having been affected by mental health when I should of been having the time of my life.
I have been doing things different to stay calm and inching towards a healthier lifestyle YEAH right
Keep your chin up I got plans for you Kid
Man, first off I’m very sorry for your loss, I could not imagine losing any of my kids. I would like to tell you that you should have gone to the doctor first off, but I reckon I’m like you, the last thing I would do would be see a doctor straight off. Must be a bloke thing. I hope that everything will turn out OK and that its nothing serious.
As to your question. I would be pissed if it was because of something I did, but other than that I would spend whatever time I had left with my family.

My dad had high blood pressure…..its a very serious ailment. In order to avoid his fate, I’ve been aggressively exercising, keeping my weight down, and avoiding high cholesterol foods.

Thanks for all the well wishes and concern about this article. I do try to keep up with my health…I play softball, exercise 3x a week, and I cut out the salt. When I went to the doctor today, I discovered that something had bitten me. Actually, my younger sister and I discovered it last night. She made an oil for me that was directly from the Bible, and we put the oil on my left leg and this morning when I woke up, my leg was no longer swollen. As for the seriousness of the article, I was feeling real melancholy yesterday…don’t know why. But, I was just wondering if I had a short time to live what would I do? Well, first off, I’d go to DisneyWorld (going there next month). I would make sure that the most important people in my life knew that I loved them. And I would spend money on whatever I wanted without thinking about the bills. Probably max out my credit cards in the process and delight in telling the bill collectors that oh well, can’t pay ya, so you can call all you want!

I guess once we all come to a point of being in the tip of life, we all ask the same questions…Being a man of God, we have an extra question , what have we done in this world for Him? Have we done enough?
Hope you are alright, John
Please keep us posted after your appointment with the doctor!
