I didn't comment on this yet? It's an excellent, excellent rant.

Facebook and Twitter are keeping people away from any content that requires more than a second's thought. There's no way to communicate if we just say the same things to each other over and over again.

@Matt from Sacramento Weddings
I was telling my friend that I have never received a negative comment in over 1300 comments and 320 something post
OUCH :)and (best of all) no more idiotic posts about Twitter and Facebook."
Well sir I hope your reading this because I wanted to thank my mysterious DJ friend from Sacramento and say I was thinking about you TODAY and want to invite YOU to write a good marijuana post and include your links etc. OR you can write the post anonymously and then write another one about the DJ business etc and include all your links. We don't want the search to SEE I LOVE weed when people look up your business :) anyway I do appreciate your long term commitment to this blog and want you to know if there is anything I can do to help NAME IT :)
thanks

John Sullivan (San Antonio Riverwalk) said:

<i>"PS I have been thinking about selling out myself and turning this into a straight up POT blog"</i>

That wouldn't be a bad thing John......your readership would increase, the SEO would be better due to focusing on the KW, and (best of all) no more idiotic posts about Twitter and Facebook.

FWIW, I do not "Tweet" or Twitter (my profile page hasn't been updated in over one year), and I rarely use FaceBook (last login date was in Early April).

John,

I agree, and Facebook and Twitter are just hit and run sites for people who are trying to gain traffic.

Twitter is a dashboard and if you're not connected you miss the content. I think this is a fad that will soon fade.

Twitter this and Twitter that.

I know the feeling of having other sites you don't know what to do with. I have 6 or 7 domains now. The one I'm working on for launch soon is the wedding site where I'll be putting up photos, video, etc. from the wedding & honeymoon. Kind of a mushy, sappy romance site. :) After that, I have a domain for my name that I want to do a visual resume/portfolio on, and after that, I don't know what to do with the others. Those are my upcoming projects. :)

I really try not spend too much time on Facebook, but everynow and then someone contacts me from the past and I go on a little splurge. I just don't like the user interface..

I can see your point about Twitter too..with the limitation of 140 characters, you are limited to very trite and often shallow messages. I often find myself having to sensor myself to because what I want to say doesn't fit.
It also seems to suck so much time away from real blogging..

I haven't got on the whole twitter bandwagon, but I feel like inevitably the crush of the mob will inspire me to do so. It seems like the interaction over there sucks and I am not entirely looking forward to it. Maybe you just have to be reel careful with who you follow.

It's like StumbleUpon. I've definitely met some cool cats. In fact, I wouldn't be reading this blog if it weren't for stumble, but recently the spammers, blog dumpers, ect have kicked it into high gear. Blogging should be about community and building strong one at that not much of this crap that passes for quasi human interaction.

Facebook I feel is a mixed bag. A bunch of my friends from high school and college constantly socialize over there and I haven't notice too many spammers entering our particular social niche. I guess I should count myself fortunate.

I really think the best we can do is find good peeps, stick together, and then make sure we have each others back.
