Free the mentally ill in America now

in America,social media

p_frontline

The real king of the internet is back so pay attention. I owe everyone an apology.  When I started this blog I had an agenda. I supported Barack Obama for President because it would be good for the country. I did intend to write about all the wonderful reasons to make marijuana legal. I hated George bush and I loved our military. I wrote about homelessness in San Antonio. I always wanted to travel around and be some new kind of activist. I wanted to keep it real but I haven’t done that entirely.

I was basically a street kid living in various institutions as a child whether ran by the county or state. I was always somewhere. At 17 I was sent to Elmira Reformatory ( a tough prison ). I managed to become institutionalized and imprisoned for most of the 80′s. I think I have done something like 11- 12 yrs incarcerated and 1-2 in some mental health or alcohol facility. I cost society plenty. I do have a college degree and beautiful children.  I have been all over this great country and meet plenty of cool people. I do believe that I have a severe problem with depression and Boredom. I paid dearly for hundreds of BAD decisions. I was recommended to go on Social Security and stay medicated but opted out of that package.

The whole point is that this BLOG, this particular blog does very much have an agenda. Originally it was to show the world how awesome the internet really is when some loser works hard and saves the day. But the real agenda is PEOPLE. Despite all my own failures and disappointments I have always loved people. When I had money I hugged the poor ,when I was broke I robbed the rich. I justified my actions because it was necessary.   Today I wanted to share a very tragic condition that America should be very ashamed about. The movie- “The Released:  is an excellent, honest look at what occurs everyday in the greatest most powerful country in the world.

I only ask in a world where we spend millions on one plane don’t we have a few thousand to treat the people who’s condition is beyond their control ? I hate crime and wish there were no murders, rapes, assaults but they will all continue as long as we look the other way and allow them to continue. Hope you can watch the film it’s excellent :) Check out that bad ass PBS.org site :) faqp1 FRONTLINE: the released: watch the full program | PBS Five years ago, FRONTLINE’s groundbreaking film, The New Asylums, went deep inside the Ohio prison system as it struggled to provide care to thousands of mentally ill inmates. This year, FRONTLINE filmmakers … faqp2 PS I just wanted to add that I may add something to this blog that I may or may not agree with …Just because it’s on this blog doesn’t necessary mean it’s MY opinion often I just really want to know what YOU Think thanks. prison See where your state, if your American fares as far as their treatment imprisonment of the mentally ill .

  • Legalize Marijuana… (dequalss.com)
  • Sorry to bum you out just trying to raise some awareness…Peace and please feel free to share any thoughts, experiences thanks.
  • Also you have to factor all the REAL losers that would be out of jobs if we really did make a change. I know that probation officers, parole officers, prison guards  etc usually attract a certain breed of useless person. Just being honest.

Prison is big business in America be careful or you just find out they do have a bed for YOU LOL ;) cop-300x300

This one of he only country in the world where they can send you in a mandatory lprogram and inflicting you electroshock

. This is one of the reason why Americans are shitting theirs pants off fighting their own government…

Electroshock are not used in any civilized countries.. Asylum were shut down in the 70 s in italy with no major problem. Menatlly ill patient do not commit violent crimes than ” normal ” people…
Electroshock are the most barbaric punishment inflicted to human being… Wake up America, you could be next..All they need is an affidavit of your wifey on one from a Psy..
Wake up mother fuckers !! or you could be next !!!

I think a LOT of the prisoners aren’t really mentally ill — about 40% of our US prison population is drug offenders, about 80% would be functional in society if they got proper treatment or counseling.

Currently, CA spends about $50,000 per year to house feed and pay medical care for EACH prisoner in CA prisons.

“Corrections” (as they like to call prisons) is costing a huge portion of the state budget. More reason to release drug offenders!

I’m NOT disputing the FACT that we need prisons for criminals and BAD people that can not function in society.
The people I’m referring to have legitimate MEDICAL (brain) dysfunctions and need treatment. To use prisons for that purpose is horrible and unfortunate.
The biggest factor whether a person makes it when released from prison is SUPPORT sadly the mentally ill have many times worn out their families and friends.Society is obligated to treat the sick.
We all need someone no man is an island.

I think that there should be different institutions for the criminally mentally ill, criminals, and the non-criminally mentally ill. Those in the first institution, when released, should have to report to many years of followup therapy to ensure that they were not “faking” and to ensure that whatever ill they suffered from when they committed a crime does not resurface and cause them to commit crimes again.
