Social media what’s on your plate ?

Clarity, discipline, motivation all these words connect back to the thoughts that travel through our mind. As I start the second year of this blog off I wanted to share about some of the blocks I had encountered.

People: I’m the first to admit that I let what people think, do or don’t do have way to much power over this blog. I will question whether or not to write this or that. I think fear of success or lack of success pits you right in the middle, the DEAD zone.

Anyone who is truly successful believes in what they are doing, they want to succede.

In reality the ONLY person holding YOU back is you. Did you know out of the 1200 plus comments on this blog none are negative. In fact 99.9% I would say are actually loving. That’s a pretty cool accomplishment. The only reason I mention it is because it’s exactly something I would overlook and not allow myself to accept it as the positive thing that it is :)  No I didn’t delete the bad ones SILLY :)

Now am I saying turn into some snob jerk like we see all to often ? NO   But there’s been many times I wanted to write about things and didn’t . So instead of looking at how far I have to go. I can look at how far I’ve come.

I have some really awesome things happening. There only happening because of  all the time and effort I have put into them. Yes I could sit here and feel sorry for myself that I’m not up in Austin with all the people at  #sxsw . I guess I still have a lot of work do to on my people skills. Judging all these people in social media that I come across as Goofs and lamers doesn’t help the cause :)  BUT we are different what impresses them often doesn’t impress me. The value I put on friendships is definitely different. I don’t go for that HERO worship. I could talk to Bill Gates one minute and a homeless guy the next and that part of me I hope never changes.

facebookgoofs

So my question is this WHO are you ? I mean really who are you and what are your goals online I’d like to know.

I think writing them and claiming them put you one step closer to accomplishing them.

I was trying to work myself up to doing a show on Ustream kinda like an  informal chit chat for bloggers.

This site is really cool and I was hanging with 3 dudes in this one guys channel and had a great time.

The point I’m trying to make is if your going to BRAKE pass the points your stuck on you have to have the willingness to get motivated. The right place is outthere for all of us.

I really like this site LIVEVIDEO the chat rooms seem really cool. Check it out and let me know what you think.

I know 5-10 bloggers in one room can be a hell of a time.

Instead of wishing I was somewhere else and  that the people here in San Antonio were different I’ll bring the world to me  and have fun doing so :)

Thanks everyone for the well wishes yesterday. The fact that this blog made it  one year wasn’t a big deal until later that night I said to myself  ” at least 50% of the blogs don’t make it past a year”  so I’m half way HOME :)

The reason I ask people to write what their goals are etc is because I visit every site that comments on this BLOG

and I will look to see if there is anything that I can do to help.

Thanks and yes I didn’t mention Twitter or Facebook :) although I do like the new Facebook  layout and that awesome HIDE button. Please DONT HIDE ME LOL :)

Goals…. for blogging…. ever changing….

I first started to market and promote my website.
http://www.theoriginalcoffeecompanyonline.com

Then it turned into meeting people. and posting what was important to me.

Now I have a second blog. I don’t know if anyone visits, but I love it. It is a photo blog. I try to post a photo a day. I am really enjoying it. No words, just the title and tags.
http://thecoffeeladyrules.blogspot.com

Back to goals. My goal is continued friendship with many wonderful people I have met. If someone realizes I sell coffee, then I make a sale… yipee, if not. I have my friends.

Wow, I’m digging the new layout!

I didn’t know you could hide people on Facebook. It seems like though, if you had the urge to hide someone, why would you need to be friends with them?

By the way, I tried to bookmark you in Furl, but it says they are moving to another site. :/

Also, as far as goals, I’m starting a blog going with that project of doing 101 things in 1001 days. It’s almost done, but still missing some stuff, and I need to get to posting on that site too more regularly. I’ll share it when it’s ready! :)

Somehow I missed this great post in my daily meandering on the internet. Better late than never though.

I think goals are such an important aspect to anything in life, but the internet is like life in hyperspeed.

I helped my brother start his blog Jay Zuck’s Sketch of the Day because I think his art is bomb and so much of it was lingering in obscurity. Maybe it still is, but hopefully that will change.

In the near term I hope to figure out how to sell his stuff as originals and prints on his site and also tweak the site design. Hopefully, we can start selling stuff soon and my brother’s journey as a non-starving artist can begin. As Christina mentioned if we fall a little short, we’ll have made some good friends and at the very least raised the profile of his work if only a smidge.
