"So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, good night
I hate to go and leave this pretty sight
So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, adieu
Adieu, adieu, to yieu and yieu and yieu
So long, farewell, au revoir, auf wiedersehen
I'd like to stay and taste my first champagne
I leave and heave a sigh and say goodbye -- Goodbye!
I'm glad to go, I cannot tell a lie
I flit, I float, I fleetly flee, I fly
The sun has gone to bed and so must I
So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, goodbye
Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye"

As I read your post, this song from Sound of Music kept running through my head. It truly is time to tell GB "GOOD BYE"! What will the history books have to say about this administration in 50 years. Well, I hope it has some resemblance of the truth of the downward spiral this country has gone through. But more IMPORTANTLY, we have the chance to write history for the next 4 years. If you don't vote, don't gripe. If you don't vote, we don't need you here. Make your voice heard. I, for one, am for a desperately needed CHANGE. I mean really, can it get much worse? You bet, that is why I voted. The governing of this country has changed dramatically over the last 200+ years. We are not the country the founding fathers envisioned. "Washington" has way too much power. I hope, pray, wish, whatever term you want, that Obama will be able to lead (frankly, the power of the presidential office is questionable) the country back to some core values. An honest days wage for an honest days work. The freedom to raise our children. An affordable education for all. Health care available to all.... who ever said doctors had to be rich. I can remember stories of doctors getting paid in fresh eggs or in some hay... What happened to our society? Why do we need the elitists telling us how we need to live. Honestly, if you are not mature enough to handle alcohol, or pot, or other illegal drugs.... then, the gene pool needs to be weeded out. This is called natural selection. It is my right to carry a gun. With that right comes responsibility. It is my right to grow my food and my animals with out government or big business telling what kind of seed to use or keeping track of my animals. And if I want to trade milk for fire wood, that should be between the parties, not the state and certainly not "Washington".

My friend, John, I could probably go on and on.... But I have referenced enough soapboxes of mine for today. The point is.... this country is never going to get back on track until the people actually speak. Today is the day to be heard. GO VOTE!

Great post. Most important thing is that we are finally able to get the past from our necks. With new president we will finally be able to see some changes, hopefully, if he looks over his country and people first. We are deep in troubles and that needs to be fixed.
