San Antonio is a very strange and dangerous place.But the city won’t tell you that.Thousands of homeless in various states of mental illness roam the streets both in the day and night.I guess it is acceptable because you don’t hear much from the corporate media or the politicians,why? because they don’t care.For the last few nights I have been on a journey as a “homeless man” and I’ll tell you it’s disgusting and very dangerous.
Until the city of San Antonio does something about this and they can very easily I WOULD NOT bring my family to San Antonio to visit.Do I want to hurt the city NO.But do I think it is a safe place to VISIT absolutely NOT.And having the POLICE crack heads like they have done in the past does NOT WORK.They would be doing that now but they have no space in the jail so they look the other way for now,but they are building a new one so the batons and mace will flow soon.Maybe when the politicians have their little tourist racket threatened then maybe they will do something.I doubt it but we shall see.
They city has the resources and facilities available at abandoned Air Force bases that they can house these people and help people get back on their feet.San Antonio has always been a low paying city but these people many who should be institutionalized are abandoned.Even many of the people that work with the homeless don’t give a damn.Yesterday I spoke with a guy at the Fancy new building that Goodwill has,where they sell clothes donated by the fortunate and where does all that money go? Believe me his answers were WEAK at best.I’m sure he is making 50 g a yr or more.
They have a work program which isn’t a work program it is a legal way to not pay people what they should be paid for slaving for the corporate entity they should be ashamed of themselves and they need to be exposed.
There are some church groups trying but you can’t fight fire with gasoline.Feeding a man then closing the door on him does nothing but help keep him on the street.I don’t know the solution short of declaring a STATE of emergency it is THAT BAD.Watch your back when your downtown San Antonio.
TOP TEN places in America to do business,Yes because of the cheap labor.Other then that if I had a big corporation I wouldn’t want my employees and guests exposed to what downtown San Antonio has to offer.
Unfortunately the politicians here work for themselves.What the hell is a politician anyway?Who do these people think they are.I only wish George Washington could come back he would send most to the hangman that’s for sure.It is treason to cater to corporate entities and leave your own people on the street like dogs.

Unfortunately, most people have a NIMBY (Not In My Back Yard) attitude toward the homeless–push them out of our community and then there’s no more problem. What’s really amazing is that it’s often the conservative Bible thumpers (really big on the parts about gays and subordinate roles for women, not so much for all that liberal bleeding heart “love they neighbor” shit) who are least sympathetic. Then, maybe that shouldn’t be so amazing….
