My Love for all things Radio

Ever since I was a very young boy and I found a bunch of broken AM transistor radios in one of my grandfather’s dresser drawers have I had an abnormal love of all things radio.I had my first start at repair when I noticed that the wire connecting the battery terminal was loose.I do recall getting some praise and had a bunch of radios working.I also loved testing the 9 volt batteries with my tongue and still do.

In high school I was a well known “pothead” and I loved fixing things,bikes remote control toys and I learned how to solder. I took electronics in High School and things like ohm’s law and EMF just made alot of sense to me.I was a bench tech at Harris RF Communications in Rochester N.Y and became a bigtime commercial radio buff.I was a big fan of this guy Brother Wease on WCMF 96.5 and was a loyal listener,this was back when he was going up against Howard Stern.The closest I came to actually doing radio I was a wedding DJ and would have a blast each week get paid a lot and I thought I was working on my on air persona.

Over the years I have had  a thousand radios in one form or another . I loved working on computers and the first one I ever worked on a Packard Bell 486 33X I actually broke a jpin off and lucky we had a service contract and when the tech came I watched and played dumb. I remember when the Sony walkman came out one of my boys in Yonkers threw us a case in the dumpster it was like having GOLD.I also had the BIGGEST Boom box in the neighborhood and I had it all pimped out with beer paraphenalia that I got working at the beer store That boom box was a chick magnet.I bought it on 42^nd St in 1982 and it was LOUD and HUGE.

So one of the loves about radio besides all the cool songs that we love that bring back great memories,and the fact that’s its free would be the connection you make with that unknown person who is there for you whether it’s an awesome alternative rocks show or a great station they have here in San Antonio KISS 99.5.I also was a big fan of all talk radio.I felt like I knew all those goofs.Micheal Savage,I was listening to Rush’s first national broadcast in the early 90′s.Now days I still surf NPR and listen to one of my old favs WCMF 95.5 the Home Of Rock n Roll. So you must be wondering Ok dude your a radio FREAK well so are you.Don’t you see that your blog or whatever you do online is the modern radio?If you have a second please sign up for my feed because I’m currently going to share with you the things that I’m doing with radio right now and the things that  I will be doing in the near future. 1.All matter is either a solid liquid or gas-what is electricity I used to stump everyone at RIT with that one  so be careful

2 what is the ONLY radio station west of the mississippi river that doesn’t have a K and for a bonus why is that ? triple Bonus where is it located

3 Would you listen to my LIVE RADIO chat show with video on ustream If I was just on their blazing and talking about cool blogs? How about if I just talk about yours would you listen?
